Application to serve on the ACE Foundation Board of Directors
Mission: The American Cheese Education Foundation creates access to education and raises funds for food safety and industry research for the specialty cheese industry.

Vision: To further excellence in the quality, safety, and art of the cheese industry in the Americas.

Thank you for your interest! As of Summer 2023, we currently have 2-3 positions available on our Board of Directors.

The right fit?
We are specifically looking for diverse representation from what we already have on the board. That can look like any combo of the following:
-Marginalized and/or underrepresented communities including but not limited to those who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and more.
-Cheesemakers
-Skilled in accounting & finance background, legal, education, marketing, social media Skills, fund raising skills
-Other? Maybe none of these but pure passion? Just apply and let us know!

Commitment: Board terms start July 1 and are 3 years, with an option to renew once (for a total of 6 years of service). We have a monthly board call, annual meetings at ACS Conference, and then project-based work in the interim.

Deadlines for applications are generally May 31 but for the 2023 year, we have granted an extension until August 15. We will notify all applicants of decisions by late August. If approved, please note that you will be expected to participate in our bi-annual meeting (usually held at the end of July/beg of August at the ACS conference).

Commitment:
-Monthly board call first Thursday of every month
-Participation & Leadership on one of our committees (usually includes a monthly call)
-Physical attendance at our annual ACS meeting.  As able, we do offer some compensation for travel and lodging.
*We are a small, but mighty all volunteer-run org of about 5-7 individuals. We only get done what we, as each member, set out to do. Because there is no staff involved (just some support by ACS staff), know that our board members do the work of this foundation.
