 Role Summary

The Sales Coach is responsible for developing, training, and supporting the sales teams across Milliken Corporation, Milliken Builders, and Milliken Rentals. This role will focus on equipping our sales specialists with the tools, skills, and accountability they need to achieve consistent growth, maintain profitability, and uphold Milliken’s culture of integrity and excellence.

The person in this role will track performance data, identify areas of opportunity, and implement coaching strategies that improve both individual and team success.The Sales Coach will serve as a resource for scripting, standards, time management, proposals, and estimates, while also instilling discipline, confidence, and customer-first values. 


Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Training & Development

    • Design and deliver training programs focused on sales tactics, skills, and industry-specific language.

    • Provide ongoing development through workshops, one-on-one coaching, and peer-learning opportunities.

    • Ensure all sales specialists are confident in proposals, estimates, and profit margin awareness.

  • Accountability & Standards

    • Establish clear sales standards, processes, and performance expectations.

    • Monitor individual and team activity through CRM system, data tracking, and reporting.

    • Reinforce discipline and time management practices that maximize efficiency.

  • Tactics & Tools

    • Create and refine sales scripts, objection-handling tools, and proposal guidelines.

    • Develop strategies to increase lead conversion and close rates.

    • Provide coaching on, and encourage, networking, chamber of commerce/trade org participation, and industry event engagement.

  • Performance & Metrics

    • Track sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges.

    • Review and analyze estimates, proposals, and margins to ensure profitability.

    • Work with the leadership team to set and monitor individual and company sales goals.

  • Culture & Communication

    • Foster a sales culture rooted in integrity, discipline, and customer focus.

    • Bridge communication between junior sales reps and senior leadership.

    • Encourage collaboration and peer accountability to strengthen team dynamics.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Proven experience in sales leadership, coaching, or training roles.

  • Strong understanding of proposals, estimating, and profit margin analysis.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt to different personality types and learning styles.

  • Highly organized, disciplined, and data-driven with strong time management skills.

  • Creative problem-solver who can develop scripts, tools, and tactics that elevate sales performance.
