Please read the following information thoroughly.
Rex Putnam Student Parking Policy
By signing this, students and parents agree to follow these school safety guidelines. (Effective 08/2026)
1. Our Purpose
At Rex Putnam High School, we view our parking lot as a shared community resource. This policy provides guidelines to ensure a safe, organized, and equitable parking experience for our students, families, and staff. By following these procedures, we help maintain a secure environment that supports our daily school operations.
2. How to Get Your Permit
To be eligible for a student parking permit, the following requirements must be met:
The student must be currently enrolled at Rex Putnam High School.
The student must have a valid driver’s license
The student must have a vehicle that is properly registered, insured, and in safe operating condition.
The student must complete the Rex Putnam Student Parking Application along with a signed agreement to follow the parking rules and regulations
3. Student Parking Expectations
Parking on school grounds is a privilege that requires compliance with all school and district policies.
Students must maintain at least 80% attendance to keep their permit.
Safe Driving: The speed limit is 5 miles per hour. All drivers must yield to pedestrians and avoid reckless behaviors.
No Loitering: Students must leave the parking lot promptly upon arrival, after school ends, and may not stay in a vehicle if student/s have a class in session; loitering is not permitted.
Students should refrain from displaying, on their vehicles, symbols, verbiage or pictures that may depict potentially offensive, threatening or illegal images or language.
The school is not liable for damaged or stolen property. PARK AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Students must have no outstanding disciplinary actions or parking violations.
Students must pay the Parking Pass Fee to the bookkeeper.
4. Permit Rules & Display
Assigned Parking Spaces:
Again, parking is limited and on a first come, first served basis. The school assigns designated spots randomly based on availability. No exceptions will be made for preferred parking spaces. All students must register via the Rex Putnam Student Parking Application.
Vehicle Registration:
Each student may register up to two vehicles under their assigned space. However, only one vehicle can be parked on school property at any given time. If a student needs to park a different vehicle, they must update their registration with the Bookkeeper.
Permit Sticker/Tag:
Display the permit on the driver side top right of windshield at all times while on school grounds.
Failure to display the parking permit sticker/tag on the vehicle will result in a $25 parking fee being added to the student's account.
5. Visitor Parking
6. Staff-Only Parking
7. Keeping Your Parking Privileges
Violation Types:
Failure to comply with expectations or permit rules will result in enforcement actions.

Annual parking permits are $70. Payment must be made before a parking permit is issued.
Refund Policy:
