Application for COLLAB Creative Residency
The Loudoun Arts Council and Loudoun County Public Library are pleased to announce a collaborative three-month residency that offers artists a free, supportive environment to create work and develop their practice while engaging with library patrons to foster art appreciation, inspiration, and dialogue.

This artist-focused opportunity showcases local talent and library resources while enhancing the artistic and cultural life of our community.

Residencies are awarded based on the quality of the artists’ proposals and are not limited to visual artists. Performers, writers, musicians, and makers are also invited to apply, as are those interested in cross-media collaborations.

Artists are encouraged to document and share their experiences during their residency. Loudoun County Public Library and the Loudoun Arts Council will promote resident artists and their workshops on their websites, on flyers, and on social media channels.

The residency requires 10-12 on-site hours per week. Library makerspaces have worktables, storage, and display space along with tools and technical equipment that artists are encouraged to experiment with.

During the three-month residency, library staff will work with the artist to create three interactive, paid workshops with the public.

There will be three to four residency opportunities per year to be based in the Brambleton, Gum Spring, Rust, and/or Sterling Library makerspaces.

Residencies are funded by the Loudoun County Public Library.
