Thank you for your interest in joining the
Southern Indigenous Student Coalition!
This group was created to give Indigenous students attending southern institutions of higher education in the south a means to meet other Indigenous people (IP) from across institutions and even across state lines.
Our mission does not stop there. We seek to:
- Serve as a unified body representing Indigenous student organizations. Promote collaboration and mutual support between Indigenous student organizations.
Promote collaboration between our student groups and local tribal communities.
Advocate for the well-being, academic success, and cultural preservation of Indigenous students.
Provide a platform for collaboration among Indigenous scholars, faculty, and students.
If this form has made it to you, it means someone from our group as invited you to join... congratulations! Being indigenous in higher education can be challenging and isolating and we hope you can find strength to meet the challenge within our group.
If you are an ally, feel free to continue with this form, but we ask that you respect your position as an ally. This, similar to our expectations of everyone involved, goes beyond remaining respectful and includes being an active contributor to our groups and our efforts.
Aside from membership, feel free to follow us on instagram as well! : @wearesisc
