Compass Award: Advisor of the Year

This award is given in recognition of the Organization Advisor whose dedication to advising, counseling, and support strengthens the organization and its members. The Advisor of the Year has been active in helping the Club/Organization to achieve its goals.

Award Criteria
The Compass Award is designed to recognize and acknowledge the special efforts of an individual who has done an outstanding job in advising a student organization. The nominee can be the advisor of any chartered student organization. The committee will consider the nomination based on the following criteria: regularly attends group meetings and/or events, shares knowledge of the program, suggests program ideas, is a good resource for the group, is easily accessible, works with the officers of the group, and is concerned with the welfare of the group and its membership.

Any faculty or staff member that advises an organization as a requirement of his/her position is not eligible for nomination.

Individual awards may be submitted by any member of the GRU community (student, staff, or faculty) who has first-hand knowledge of the advisor's contributions.
