Lauring GUITAR Master Class nomination form 2013-14

The Beverly and Lewis Lauring Guitar Master Classes are presented by the JCC Thurnauer School of Music.

To participate in a Lauring Master Class, students must be nominated by their teachers.

Lauring Master Classes are open to pre-college guitarists from a wide range of ages and levels of training. The criteria for selecting participants include good preparation, serious dedication, and the ability to respond to suggestions in a class situation, whether the student is performing an advanced piece or something from the beginning repertoire. Students chosen to perform must be New Jersey, New York or Connecticut residents.

Audition Requirements
• Beginning Students: one memorized piece with which the student feels comfortable
• Intermediate and Advanced Students: Two contrasting selections of the teacher’s choice.
(One movement of a concerto or a sonata would constitute a selection.)

Repertoire must be memorized.

Nomination, Audition and Master Class Dates:
Nominations due: MARCH 10
Auditions: March 30, 4:30pm on
Class: Tue, April 29, 4-7pm

Videotaped auditions will be accepted for students unable to perform live at Thurnauer on March 30. Videos must be unedited and done on one, single-take and emailed (the video or a link to the video) to thurnauer@jccotp.org by March 26.
