2024 Miss Pasadena JCI Application
Interested in representing the Pasadena Japanese Cultural Institute (PJCI) and the Miss Pasadena JCI Program in the 2024 Nisei Week Japanese Festival and Nisei Week Court? Participating in the Nisei Week Court Program is an experience of a lifetime and participants gain invaluable experience in public speaking, poise, time management, and leadership, and also receive exposure to Japanese cultural arts.
 
The Miss Pasadena JCI Committee is committed to sponsoring young women who share the mission of PJCI to preserve and promote Japanese and Japanese-American culture and values. Through PJCI’s many programs such as Japanese language school, cultural and martial arts education, youth and senior programs, the Miss Pasadena JCI Committee seeks candidates who will commit themselves to engage in PJCI and Miss Pasadena JCI Committee efforts now and into the future.

All applications must be received no later than March 3, 2024.

If chosen to be Miss Pasadena JCI, you are required to be available on March 24th 2024 for the PJCI Annual Luncheon. Please let us know if you have any conflicts with this!

Selection Requirements:
Applicant must be between the ages of 19 and 26 years old on the day of the Nisei Week Coronation on August 10, 2024.

Applicant must be of at least 50% Japanese ancestry.

Applicant must have been born or naturalized in the United States as a permanent resident, must be single, not divorced or separated, and without children.

Applicants may be engaged, but in the event that she is awarded a Nisei Week title, must remain unmarried for the duration of her reign.

If selected, applicant must not enroll or participate in any other beauty or popularity contests or apply with any other Nisei Week Queen sponsor/organization until the end of the 2024 Nisei Week Japanese Festival.

Applicant must be a member or become a member of PJCI (annual family membership fee of $30.00 payable to PJCI may be submitted with application).

Applicant must be a member or become a member of Pasadena Nikkei Seniors (PNS) (annual membership fee of $10.00 payable to PNS).

If applicant is crowned Miss Pasadena JCI, she is requested to remain active with the Miss Pasadena JCI Committee for at least one year succeeding her reign.
