Want to learn how to lead beach cleanups?  We are getting more requests for cleanups every year, but can't always accommodate those requests due to staff availability.  If you love cleanups, we'd love to train you to lead a cleanup group in an online webinar!  We are hoping to have a core group of volunteers ready to lead cleanups when things have returned to normal and beaches are once again open.

To be certified as a cleanup lead, you need to:

1) Have participated in at least one (ideally more) Blue Ocean Society beach cleanup

2) Attend a training - this will last approximately 1.5-2 hours and will include an overview of BOS, our cleanup protocols and a practice cleanup.

3) Sign up to lead a cleanup, with supervision from a trained staff member or lead volunteer. Once you've done this cleanup successfully, we'll get you a supply kit and start assigning you your own cleanups to lead!  We'll provide all the support you need along the way.
