Social Media Manager  Application

The Grow to Care Lab in the Psychology Department is looking for a communications and social media aficionado who will help with our ongoing media and community engagement initiatives!

The Social Media Manager volunteer position offers a unique training opportunity. You will work closely with Dr. Peplak, the lab manager, and other RAs to enhance your expertise in developing the lab’s social media presence. This includes creating content tailored to different social media platforms and developing your knowledge dissemination skills. You will be responsible for completing 8 hours of work weekly (we are open to discussing this requirement with the right candidate).  

The Social Media Manager role will involve (but is not limited to) the following:

1. assisting in creating, editing, and posting content on the lab website, Instagram, and other social media platforms.

2. assisting Dr. Peplak in creating of lab’s social media brand on different social platforms.

3. maintaining a social media calendar in cooperation with other RAs and Dr. Peplak.

4. monitoring Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn for content that our lab can repost.

5.interacting with users and responding to media messages, inquiries, and contacts.

6.finding new accounts that we can follow adhering to the "finding the New Accounts to Follow" protocol, and tracking that following is reciprocal. 

Experience working with Canva (or/and Figma, Adobe Illustrator, MS applications etc.) and knowledge of Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn is strongly preferred.

A minimum GPA of 3.0 and commitment of one year is required.
