What is Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)?
- DACA is a new policy announced by the Department of Homeland Security on June 15, 2012. If accepted, this program allows undocumented immigrant youth who came to the US before the age of 15 and are currently under the age of 32 the opportunity  to establish legal presence in the US.

Those who qualify, and are approved for DACA, can receive the following:
-A work permit renewable every 2 years
-A valid Social Security Number.
-The opportunity to apply for a California Identification Card or Driver’s License.
-Legal Presence in US for 2 years from the time one's application is approved (this can be renewed)
-Potentially, “front of the line” status on future immigration reform programs or legislation.
