FreshFest 2013 with Hopkins Hillel

To all first year Jewish students: Come enjoy a unique opportunity as Johns Hopkins Hillel launches its Second annual FreshFest. FreshFest is a chance to move in a day early for most, on August 28th, and meet other first year Jewish students. In addition to getting to know your classmates, you'll be able to connect with (upper class) students who will help guide you through those first few hours of college life and answer any other questions you may have about the upcoming year.

Moving in early helps avoid the hassle of long car lines and crowded key retrieval while still providing all the help you need from our staff of movers. After getting settled, you will make your way to the Hopkins Hillel building to enjoy a Hummus Happy Hour and a welcome from our Hillel Director Rabbi Debbie Pine. This is a great chance to meet the people you will spending your next four years with and an early introduction to the Jewish community within Hopkins. Afterwards, you will go on a scavenger hunt around campus lead by older students who will answer any of your questions and hopefully help you win the prize at the end. The scavenger hunt will be a great way to get acclimated with campus and see where you'll be taking classes, eating lunch and staying up late to study for finals. During the scavenger hunt parents will have some free time and a chance to participate in a panel moderated by the Executive Director of Hillel. By including faculty members of JHU as well as parents of current students, the panel will aim to answer parents' questions concerning all aspects of life at Hopkins.

Finally, everyone will reconvene at Hillel where we will have dinner and say our goodbyes!

Please RSVP by August 9th.

Feel free to contact us at hopkinsfreshfest@gmail.com with any questions or concerns.
