Thank you for your interest in this study of how Disney theme-park fans use social media. My name is John Edward Campbell and I’m an assistant professor in the School of Media and Communication at Temple University and a life-long Disney fan. My observations suggest that Disney fans have been especially active users of social media.
This study aims to understand how and why Disney fans use social media to share their interests in and experiences of the Disney theme parks. The ultimate goal of this project is to produce a scholarly book on the uses Disney fans make of social media.
To protect the anonymity of participants, I will use only first names or pseudonyms in this study. Any personally identifiable information will be kept confidential.
