Formed in 1960, the Highland Piping Society of Canterbury Inc.(HPSC) promote the growth and development of bagpiping within the Canterbury region. The Society runs regular solo piping competitions and recitals throughout the year, including the major event of the Silver Chanter Solo Piping Competitions at Labour Weekend each year.
