duration of the summer. This included instruction of various science
merit badges and supervision of other staff members. Work was
continuous from day to day as staff members slept at the camp, getting
one day off a week.

Taught Cub Scouts and First Year Scouts a myriad of basic scouting skills
ranging from fire construction to proper axe use to knot tying. Led these
campers from program to program. Work was continuous from day to

Academic Tournaments wherein participants compete to demonstrate
knowledge of the given subject matter. Below, accomplishments are
separated by tournament format, from most to least accomplished.
National History Bowl and Bee (NHBB) - Tournaments on both the team
and individual levels with focus in history. National tournament attendee
four times. Qualified for the United States History Bee with a perfect
score, becoming the 5
th person to do so by that time. Ranked in the top 50
for History Bee, Bowl, and US History Bee at the National Tournament.
National Academic Quiz Tournaments (NAQT) - Tournaments on the
team level on all academic topics, from Literature to History to Science.
National tournament qualifier for three years.
DOE Science Bowl - Tournament at Brookhaven National Labs wherein

Next Generation Politics (NGP)
A political group who is nonpartisan and aims to increase political literacy and involvement among Gen-Z. Started
as the second chapter in the organization. NGP now has over 40 chapters in 14+ states and 4 countries. Through the
organization, I’ve had the opportunity to talk to Senator Chuck Schumer, New York Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli,
Congressman Tom Suozzi, and Former Congressman Steve Israel and individually organized/planned an education
forum to discuss problems in the present school system with five elected officials (Town Supervisor Richard
Schaffer, State Senator Phil Boyle, County Legislator Kevin McCaffrey, School Board President Robert Scheid, and
School Board Trustee John Schneidawin).
