labeling system implemented in each stockroom, will allow the standardization of the bins while

still giving the head nurses autonomy to choose the layout of the stockrooms. From an

experiment performed with college students using the current bin labeling system and the

proposed one, the results using a paired t-test showed a 42.21% reduction in search time for an

item.

By implementing these recommendations Susquehanna Health will reduce its expenses

on fuel and maintenance annual costs by approximately 80% and will be able to provide more

patients’ satisfaction by providing more time to their needs.
