On-Page SEO Techniques
This is a list of tasks of on-page SEO techniques that we do for each client.
- We can only do on-page SEO once we know the keyword that we are targeting on the page.
- Meta title - up to 60 characters long, keyword at the beginning. Add an emoji (same one across the site). Add relevant/ semantic words to the rest of the title.
- Meta description - 150 to 160 characters long. Add the keyword at the beginning. Add semantic words, terms, and localized words.
- H1- 4-6 words in the heading, including the keyword in it.
- Subheading H2, H3, H4, H5, H6
- add the keyword in each level of the heading
- Add long-tail keywords to headings
- Interlinking
Use inter links manager plugin to link the page from other pages in the site. Depending on the importance of the keyword, add the importance of the interlink for the plugin. - External linking
- Image
- resize, compress and rename with keyword
- Add ALT tag and image title with the focus keyword. The ALT needs to describe the image.
- Add at least 3 images on the page (if possible), rename other images with related keywords on the page. If the page already has the images, download one of the images and rename it with the keyword. Then add the keyword to the ATL and title.
- Add GeoTagging to the image (location, keywords)
- Embed youtube video with keyword (if one is available)
- Keyword in the text (besides what’s mentioned above add keywords also to):
- the first and last sentences of the article
- Along the article when possible but not to stuff it
- The keyword ratio needs to be at 3%
- Add FAQ to the page with keywords and related terms
- Embed a google map with the service area
- Keyword in the URL
- Schema markup
- Total words vs competition
- Once done, submit the page to GSC.
