SUBJECT: Curriculum for Students Identified with Dyslexia - Act 1039

Memo Text:

Students in the Pea Ridge School District utilize Phonics First, Structures, and Take Flight Programs for Tier I, Tier II and Dyslexia Intervention. Students who were identified with characteristics of dyslexia utilize multiple intervention programs including 95% Group Phonics Chip Kit, Barton Boxes, Take Flight with Mindplay as supplemental, Language Live (pilot in grades 5-6 only). Intervention programs are assigned to students based on multiple assessment data points.

During the 2021-22 School Year 62 students are identified as having characteristics of dyslexia.

During the 2021-22 School Year 49 students receive specific dyslexia intervention services from a dyslexia interventionist trained in the identified program for each student.

During the 2020-21 School Year 74 students are identified as having characteristics of dyslexia.

During the 2020-21 School Year 37 students receive specific dyslexia intervention services from a dyslexia interventionist trained in the identified program for each student.
