Dear SBS Parents and Families,
The SBS PTO is excited to partner with Scholastic to host another great Book Fair January 26th-30th. This event brings the books kids want to read right into our school. There will be a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level. All proceeds will go to the SBS PTO and help us buy new books for the school library and our teachers’ classrooms.
The students will have TWO opportunities during school hours to visit the Book Fair. During their first visit, they will create a wish list which will be sent home in their backpacks for your review. During their second visit, they will be able to purchase their selections, as well as books you as a family wish to gift to their teacher’s classroom. There is a teacher wish list tree right inside the library! In addition to normal school hours, the fair will also be open Thursday, January 29th from 4:30-7:30 PM. Come by with your children during these extended hours to visit and shop! Please see the schedule below to see which days your child’s class will visit the fair.
The Book Fair accepts cash, credit cards and checks (made out to PTO of the Chathams) in addition to eWallet, the Scholastic digital payment option. As a reminder, Scholastic book fairs must add 6.625% sales tax so please be aware of this added cost when sending your child to the fair with money. Additionally, this year we will be rounding up each transaction to the nearest dollar. The extra change will go to our Share the Fair Fund which pays for new books for our school library and student giveaways. If you wish to opt out of rounding up, please email sbsbookfair@chathampto.com. When you create your student's eWallet, please consider making a donation to the school's Share the Fair Fund. You can also help build your student's classroom library by donating a book from their teacher's Wish List tree, located at the fair, or contributing directly to your teacher's eWallet.
