Created by PokeChess (PokeChess was also known as Xdr45tzx3, Kirigon and Marven Stormlight), with contributions from Natan (Natan's old account: JustªRandomNick),  Anonycat (another account of Anonycat: SadisticMystic) and peakoforiginality (another account of peakoforiginality: Mozonite).

For the purpose of enhancement the questions are subject to changes!

For all questions below (1-10), ignore customized challenges with @@@ (example: / challenge Marven Stormlight, gen7ou @@@ inversemod).

As a consequence, obviously (script room tournaments), with some rule customization, are also invalid. Battles must be fought with the standard rules of the format in question, quoted in the questions (if any format is quoted). Correct examples:

/challenge Marven Stormlight,gen7ou

/challenge Marven Stormlight,gen8ou (only if the question specifies Gen 8)

For each of these situations, arrange a battle on Showdown that accomplishes the stated goals for that situation. There are questions where players are referred to here as "player A" versus "player B". You can create a sockpuppet account and challenge yourself so that you have full control over the actions on both sides. When you have a battle that exactly matches the specifications, save the replay.

The 10 Questions Below:

🍰(QUESTION 01)🍰PIECE OF CAKE?🍰

The match is a [Gen 7] OU match with legal teams.

None of the Pokemon are allowed to hold Assault Vest.

One of the Pokemons must use Struggle on turn 1.

Find out how that's possible and record a replay for your answer.

HINTS (the replays below are not the right answers, but relatively common mistakes):

Taunt against 1 Pokémon with only status move(s): Struggle will be used at the SECOND turn of the match, as shown below : https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7ou-978022820-cj28kfchcnqg5zr4kqs0uehx4ct0j9mpw

Struggle also happens on turn 2 with Imprison as shown below:

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7ou-1555004362-et0yheeups6vyrps74t001pw5xhtsi7pw

🍀🏃🏻💨(QUESTION 02)🍀🏃🏻💨

The match is a [Gen 7] OU match with legal teams.

Both teams must have at least two Pokemon each.

Player A must lead with Venusaur holding the item Venusaurite. Its moveset must exactly be Ingrain/---/---/---. The Player A must choose to mega evolve and click Ingrain on turn 1.

Player B must make a manual switch on turn 1 (to guarantee that they aren't using any moves like Snatch that could possibly prevent Venusaur from becoming ingrained).

After the first turn, the players are free to do whatever they like, for as many turns as they like.

At some point, player B must do some action that forces player A's Venusaur to switch in a way that does not involve allowing Venusaur to faint. (Giving Venusaur the option to switch as when adding a Ghost-type to it with Trick-or-Treat isn't good enough, it must be forced by player B's actions while player A continues to select Ingrain.)

Find out how this is possible and record a replay for your answer.

💪🏻🐢💪🏻(QUESTION 03)💪🏻🐢💪🏻 SMEARGLE!

The match is a [Gen 7] OU match with legal teams.

In a 1 vs. 1 match, Smeargle vs Smeargle, neither Pokémon are allowed to hold a Berry of any type, nor any type of Seed, or Luminous Moss. The players are free to do whatever they like for the first two turns.

Both Smeargles must begin the third turn with no increased or decreased stages in any stat, and are not allowed to acquire any such increases or decreases for the duration of that turn.

The Smeargles are allowed to receive stat increases/decreases on the fourth turn, and one of them must reach the end of that fourth turn with boosts of +6 in BOTH its Defense and Special Defense stat stages. Find out how that's possible and record a replay for your answer.

📦💡 (QUESTION 04)📦💡 SHEDINJA!

The match is a [Gen 7] OU match with legal teams.

Find out how it is possible that a Shedinja gets sent to the field without being fainted, knowing that the Shedinja's side already has Stealth Rock in the moment it switches in (Stealth Rock would act before you had a chance to switch his ability). Shedinja needs to enter the field in the presence of Stealth Rock (Defog and Rapid Spin are invalid). It must be an actual Shedinja (Zorua or Zoroark in the guise thereof don't count). Air Balloon, Focus Sash and Magnet Rise do not prevent Stealth Rock damage on Shedinja. Heavy-Duty Boots IS NOT a valid answer, as it is a Generation 8 item and the question specifies "[Gen 7] OU". In addition, it is standard, that is, [Gen 7] OU without customization of  rules (without "@@@", as stated at the top of the page and that goes for all ten questions in this document). Find out how that's possible and record a replay for your answer.

🏆😎🏆(QUESTION 05)🏆😎🏆 UNOWN!

The match is a [Gen 7] OU match with legal teams.  For this question, all pokemon in the match, from both players, are at level 1.

On the 8th turn of a match, a Unown moves first and uses Hidden Power Grass against a Smeargle that has only 1 type (being Dragon).

On the same turn eight, Smeargle doesn't faint from taking super effective damage while being only Dragon type. No Pokémon in the match received super effective damage from any Ice-type and/or Dragon-type moves. For this question, disregard the moves Assist, Metronome and Soak. Find out how that's possible and record a replay for your answer. Note: Inverse mode banned. It's a standard match, that is, [Gen 7] OU without customization of  rules (without "@@@", as stated at the top of the page and that goes for all ten questions in this document).

🚴🚴🚴💨(Question 06)🚴🚴🚴💨 GOLISOPOD!

The match is a [Gen 7] OU match with legal teams.

Make THE SAME Pokémon leave the field by activating Emergency Exit three times on turn eight. The message "[Golisopod's Emergency Exit]" appears three times in that same turn. There can be no fainting from any Pokémon in turn 8 of the game. Find out how this is possible and generate a replay for your answer.

From question 07 to question 10, note the use of other formats instead of  [Gen 7] OU (as present in questions 01 to 06).

(Question 07)

The battle format is [Gen 5] Ubers with valid teams.

Each side has two Pokémon; a 2 vs. 2. On the first turn, both Pokémon use Stealth Rock. On turns 2 to 4, both Pokémon use Spikes. On turns 5 to 7, only manual switches are made, making all four Pokémon in the match take damage from BOTH Stealth Rock AND Spikes. On turn 8, only one of the Pokémon on the field is hit by a non-Normal-type move, but it doesn't matter if it's physical or special. Afterwards, from turn 9 and onwards, each side can do nonspecific actions, but neither side can restore HP in any way during turns 1 to 9.

Look for a way to make the Pokémon that got a non-Normal-type hit on turn 8 to receive less damage from Stealth Rock from turn 10 onwards than it received during turns 5 and 7 upon switching into the field. No Pokémon in the match can be fainted by entry hazards (such as Stealth Rock, Spikes, and/or Toxic Spikes). The entry hazards cannot be removed. Find out how that's possible and record a replay for your answer.

👶👶(QUESTION 08)👶👶

The match is a  [Gen 7] LC  match with legal teams.

Both teams can only have one Pokemon each.

Each Pokemon must have 3 empty moveslots (whose moveset must be exactly Move/---/---/---), and player B's move must be Rest (Rest/---/---/---). Player A's move cannot be Metronome.

Player B's Pokemon must consistently take its turn before player A's Pokemon throughout every single one of the first 11 turns.

Player A must hit their move successfully, and deal at least 1 damage, on each of the first 11 turns. The attack must be super effective on each of the first 10 turns, but must NOT be super effective on the 11th. Find out how that's possible and record a replay for your answer.

                                     ⛔🔋(Question 09)⛔🔋

In a  [Gen 7] Doubles OU  with legal teams match, have a Pokemon's health drop into the red, then return to full, five times in the same turn. Find out how that's possible and record a replay for your answer.

🌟🌟🌟(QUESTION 10)🌟🌟🌟

In a  [Gen 7] Doubles OU  with legal teams match, no Pokemon on either team know the move Telekinesis, Magnet Rise or Metronome. Psychic Terrain must continuously be in effect for the entirety of turn 2. On turn 2, player A has an Absol that mega evolves and clicks Sucker Punch as its move for the turn. One of player's B's Pokemon successfully deals damage to that Absol by using Fake Out, then the same Absol successfully deals damage to one of player B's Pokemon by using Sucker Punch. How did all this happen? Record a replay for your answer.

I, PokeChess (PokeChess was also known as Xdr45tzx3, Kirigon and Marven Stormlight), the creator of the project (with contributions from Natan (Nathan's old account: JustªRandomNick), Anonycat (another account of Anonycat: SadisticMystic) and peakoforiginality (another account of peakoforiginality: Mozonite)), recommend that you do your best to solve the questions before seeing the answers. Test your answer in practice in a battle (even if it's against yourself on two accounts), if possible. Sometimes what we think works, in practice turns out to be different from what we imagine. Also, make sure you read and understand the questions well (sometimes a detail invalidates your answer). If you liked the project/document, please consider sharing it with your friend(s). Hope it provided some fun! For improvement purposes, the questions are subject to change. It is also possible that this same document will receive new questions over time.
