This is an ON-SITE tournament.  To participate, players must attend the event and buy a ticket.

The SpeedGaming Live on-site event takes place October 27-30 in Herndon, Virginia.  We recommend that people who are flying arrive on Wednesday the 26th and leave on Monday the 31st.  Players must be available all day on Thursday through Sunday.  Matches begin at 9:00 AM on Thursday October 27, and the final matches may run as late as 11:00 PM Sunday night, so we do not recommend flying in or out on those days.

Settings: Open SGL Boots (Same settings as 2021 but world state is open and swords are randomized)

For a breakdown of the mode, see the tournament information link:

Format:

This tournament consists of a Group Stage and a Bracket Stage.

Group seeding will be determined by a combination of bracket finish positions from previous ALTTPR SpeedGamingLive tournaments (2019, 2020, and 2021) as well as previous ALTTPR Main Tournaments (2019, 2021, and 2022.) Anyone not in the brackets, will get the highest place + 1. (example: the highest tied finish position in a 64 man bracket is 33rd, anyone not in the bracket will receive a 34th finish.) This is just to make groups and have some form of balance in seeding rather than going fully random seeding.

In the Group Stage, players are seeded into groups of 6.  Within each group, each pair of players must race each other once.  Tied races (those deemed by the admins too close to call) must be re-raced.  Players may do their races in any order, and all matches must be completed by the ending deadline of the Group Stage.  Players are responsible for contacting each opponent, scheduling a time, and checking in at the Tournament Admin desk when you are ready to begin your match.  Players who do not make an effort to schedule with their opponent will be given a “Loss” for each incomplete match. Depending on the number of entrants onsite, the admins may adjust the number of people per group to keep groups balanced.

At the conclusion of the Group Stage, the 1st place player in each group will earn a slot in the Bracket Stage.  Any remaining slots in the bracket will be filled by players who were 2nd place in their group.  To determine which of the 2nd-place players gets a slot in the bracket, all players who were 2nd in their group (or tied for 2nd in their group) must participate in the Tie-Breaker Race.  This is a single race that all tied players will race in simultaneously.  The top finishers will get slots in the bracket, until there are no more left. Should there be a tie for 1st place, the tied runners will enter the Tie-Breaker race head to head. The winner between the 2 runners will take the guaranteed slot, and the other runner will have to qualify based on their finish time overall in the Tie-Breaker race.

Brackets will be a Top 16 Best of 1 all the way through finals.
