        Submit an assignment in Google Classroom

You can see work assigned to you in the class stream.  You can access the assignment by clicking on the assignment in the class stream or using the classwork tab.

View an assignment

  1. UNDER STREAM - Click the assignment to open it.
  2. UNDER CLASSWORK - Click the assignment title then click “view assignment”

Turn in an assignment

Read the directions from your teacher and complete the task.

If there’s a document attached to the assignment: 

  1. Click the thumbnail to open and review the document.
  2. (Optional) Enter your information.
  3. Click Turn In.

When you turn in the assignment, your teacher will see the document labeled with your name.

Attach or create items for your assignment

  1. If your teacher attached a file, click the thumbnail to open and review it.
  2. To attach an item:
  1. To create a new attachment:
  1. Note: You can attach or create more than one file.

To remove an attachment

  1. Click Remove Remove.
  2. Add a private comment to your teacher and click Post.
  3. Click Turn In and confirm.

Mark an assignment as “done”

Sometimes your teacher may not attach anything to the assignment or it may not need to be turned in using the assignment tab. However, your teacher may still want you to mark your assignment as “done” or “complete”

  1. Click the class and then click “view assignment”.
  2. Click “Mark As Done” and confirm.

Edit your assignment (after turning in or marking done)

  1. Click on the assignment and then click “view assignment”.
  2. Click Unsubmit and confirm.
  3. This assignment is now unsubmitted.  
  4. Make any changes.
  5. Attach any new files or links if needed.
  6. Add a private comment to your teacher if needed.
  7. Click “Turn In” and confirm. Be sure you resubmit it before the due date.
  1. The status of the assignment changes to Done.

Make a copy of an attachment for your personal DRIVE

Sometimes your teacher may attach something that is not “editable” for you. However, you want to review it or add it to your drive.

  1. Click the class and then click the assignment.
  2. Open the attachment.
  3. Click on the Drive icon. It should have a + sign next to it.
  4. You can organize where you want the document/attachment by clicking “organize”. This will show you to your drive folders. Navigate to the folder you would like to keep the resource in.
  1. Do not worry -- you can organize your drive later once you are in drive.

PLEASE NOTE - Your teacher will NOT be able to see your edits/work on this document/attachment if you do not share it with him/her OR if you do not submit it to an assignment tab.

How to upload your photo/video to Google Classroom using your Chromebook

  1. Click +add or create
  2. Choose "file" then "Select the file from your device" A blue text box will appear.
  3. Choose "downloads" to find your picture.
  4. Click on the file name and then click "open".
  5. Click "upload" when you see the menu that says "insert file using Google Drive".
  6. The photo will then be uploaded to Google Classroom. Click "turn in" to submit your work


Take a photo or video with your Chromebook

Option 1

  1. In the corner of your screen, select the Launcher Launcher.
  2. Open Camera Camera. Then, on the right side, choose an option:
  • Select Photo and then Take photo Take photo.
  • Select Video and then Start recording Start recording.
  • Select Square and then Take photo Take photo.

Option 2

  1. On your keyboard, select the key that looks like a magnifying glass .
  2. Open Camera Camera. Then, on the right side, choose an option:
  • Select Photo and then Take photo Take photo.
  • Select Video and then Start recording Start recording.
  • Select Square and then Take photo Take photo.

Find or delete your photos or videos

Delete your photo or video: Select Delete Delete.
