Gear List

We maintain all of our equipment at top condition. This list is always changing so please ask us and if you have need a particular instrument, microphone, or any other need for your session.  If we don’t have something in house we can arrange in advance to have it for your session.

Console

We have decided to offer a selection of vintage and modern outboard gear, configured to operate like a console, but with the flexibility to achieve so much more than any single console could. We have also improved studio workflow with a customized monitor controller and “more-me” headphone system.

Internships

Internship days begin at 10AM and end at 8PM.

Music clients work often work at night. Interns may request the opportunity to stay at The Bridge for night sessions but this time is not a substitute for the intern’s normally scheduled obligation.

It is our expectation that interns perform regular responsibility including running for food and supplies, cleaning, and answering phones.

When sitting in on recording sessions interns are expected to write down any questions so they may be asked when it is convenient.

Interns may be offered the opportunity to help with setup and given further responsibility based on their performance.

We welcome resumes for studio interns at all times. Applicants should submit a resume and also are encouraged to provide example of work, letters of recommendations, or transcripts. It is also helpful to include details about your availability. Send all information to info@thebridgesoundstage.com and we will contact you when a slot becomes available.

We maintain a staff of roughly 14 interns. Many of our interns choose to stay with us for over a year, so we may not always have a slot available for new interns.

If our schedule has space for an additional intern, we will review your resume and set up an interview between the candidate and our internship coordinator.

If after the first interview, if the applicant would still like to attain an internship position at The Bridge, the applicant should request a second interview with one of the Head Engineers.

After the interview period, candidates will then be asked to intern for 2 days. At this point, the applicant may be offered a regular schedule with a minimum commitment of 2 shifts per week.

History

In 1998 Fort Apache moved from Roxbury to North Cambridge where and shared space in the former Rounder Records warehouse. During this time the Fort was recording some of the most influential and successful rock records of the time. With this success they were able to open 2nd studio in North Cambridge. This new and larger studio was called the B Room and was located across Mass Ave. The B Room had the exact same control room dimensions but a much larger live room with a stage in the performance space. As you may have guessed, this space is now The Bridge Sound and Stage.

Tape Op magazine interviewed producer Matt Bayles about his work in Nashville, Seattle and Boston. In the article, he mentions working in our space for the ISIS album, Oceanic. His description of the space and the acoustics were spot on.
