Community Contributor

  • Requires basic knowledge in the subject area of the proposal and is expected to provide specific, concrete feedback to the proposal author (speaker) directly in the submission system to help them improve their proposal. (http://2015.agileindia.org/#volunteer/contribute)
  • Past experience as a reviewer is an added advantage.
  • Help market the conference and get more qualified people to submit proposals.

Reviewer Team

  • Requires subject matter expertise and mainly responsible for putting the final program together for your respective theme.
  • Must submit at least one proposal to the conference. This will help the reviewers to empathise with other proposal submitters.
  • Ideally should have been a reviewer during any past conference.
  • Each proposal would require at least 2 reviewers providing 2 rounds of feedback (reviewer give feedback, author update the proposal, another follow-up feedback; either to confirm the author fixed things or give more feedback.)
  • Post the feedback cycles, before the end-date, each reviewer has to give their recommendation (Accept, Reject or MayBe) for each proposal
  • Once the proposals are accepted, work with the authors to review their experience report and case study. Couple of review rounds.
  • Market your theme and get more qualified people to submit the proposals. Also watch out of gaps (in terms of important topics) in the program and drive more proposals around those topics.
  • Identify industry experts as invited speakers and propose their topics.
  • Ensure every proposal is been given the right amount of attention (timely feedback)
  • Identify proposals which might better suit another theme
  • Work with the Theme chair to schedule the selected proposals. Need to focus on the progression of topics through the day, room and speaker constraints and also which topics should be in parallel.
  • Shepherd the authors to write a kick-ass experience report and case study.
  • On the conference day, each member will be present in each track to help the speakers and also to ensure the schedule and time is maintained.

Theme Chair

  • Has deep subject matter expertise, thought-leader on the topic and will be the owner of the theme. Right from putting the program together to ensuring smooth execution on the day of the conference is your sole responsibility.
  • Must submit at least one proposal to the conference. This will help the chairs to empathise with other proposal submitters.
  • Select the review team & guide them.
  • Market your theme for better proposals and also great participation.
  • Work with the program chair to ensure a consistent feedback & selection process is followed.
  • Willing to jump in and provide feedback to the authors if the proposal is lacking quality feedback. Lead by example.
  • Ensure quality of all the sessions is consistent and high. Encourage more diversity.
  • Work with other theme chairs to find the right home for a proposal if it does not fit in your theme.
  • Reach out to industry experts selected by the review team and invite them as invited speakers to the conference.
  • Communicate the accept/reject status to the speakers.
  • Facilitate regular meeting with your whole team to review the timelines and make sure the team is progressing in the right direction.
  • Communicate overall conference progress to the team at regular intervals.
  • Collect speaker’s session requirements and pass it on to the program chair.
  • With the help of program chair, select the keynote speaker for your theme.
  • Conduct special interviews with selected speakers and publish them as articles on conference website.
  • Coordinate with the Program Chair and plan special events during your theme.

Program Chair

  • Responsible for the overall conference program across all the 4 days.
  • Overall conference marketing.
  • Setup guidelines to ensure a fair selection and review process.
  • Willing to jump in and provide feedback to the authors if the proposal is lacking quality feedback. Lead by example.
  • Ensure the overall quality of the program & consistency across themes.
  • Ensure collaboration between the different themes is smooth.
  • Work with the theme chairs to finalize their program schedule.
  • Allocate rooms based on speaker’s session requirements.

Over the next 10 months, you would be expected to dedicate 30 mins every day (including weekends) to fulfil your role.
