ARRL FIELD DAY 2025
ARRL Field Day 2025 runs from 1PM Central Time Saturday through 7 PM Central Sunday. There will probably be someone manning the club the whole time, except when Wally Pontiff Jr. Playground is closed from 9:30pm Saturday night till 7:30am on Sunday.
We have invited people from the government, emergency operations, news, and others specifically for June 28 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM, or June 29 from 9:00 - 11:00 AM. So we especially would like members and others to be on hand those hours to help with our guests.
Come by to contact people near and far via amateur radio and meet the members of our club as we participate, along with 40,000 other North American hams (out of over 750,000 in North America), in the Field Day demonstration. Our clubhouse is in Wally Pontiff Jr. Playground, 1521 Palm Street in Metairie. In the Playground, stay to your right and look for the antenna towers.
It’s Hurricane Season! Learn about why Amateur Radio is a critical public service to our community during times of disaster. We provide FREE reliable communications even when there is no utility power, internet, or cell service. Licensed by the Federal Communications Commission and trained in the art and science of radio communication and electronics, our members own and maintain - at the club and at home - the gear and backup power needed.
We support non-emergency events as well, like the Louisiana Special Olympics, Bike Multiple Sclerosis Louisiana, and the City of New Orleans during Mardi Gras. We also offer youth and educational programs and are very active with the Scouts.
Field Day helps us maintain our equipment and skills as we demonstrate the services we offer to our community free of charge.
Come see for yourself what we can do, and get on the radio. And don’t miss seeing our live map of worldwide radio and satellite status on our new 99” TV! (YES, we can communicate with satellites, like the International Space Station.)
