FAQs - LITE Hiring Network Program

This document captures common questions asked by applicants of the LITE Hiring Network program and answers to the same.

Q1. When will I start getting access to a pool of candidates for hiring?

You can expect early access around November -December 2022.

Q2. What will be the internship tenure?

Terms and tenure for internship can be decided as per your company’s policy. The ideal duration is between 4 to 6 months.

Q3. Can you share more details about your learning methodology?

The core of the teaching-learning methodology is the Learner-Centered Model where each student works towards the course learning outcomes by submitting assignments and getting feedback on how to improve the same.

Students are taught tools and techniques that are as close to real-world web development as possible. They use Visual Studio Code from Day 1 and are taught the importance of writing readable, well-formatted code.

They are asked to refactor their code and perform version control on GitHub. Furthermore, they're also taught how to ask technical questions, and how to research for solutions to new problems on their own.

Q4. What will be the minimum CTC that should be paid to students?

Salary and terms of employment can be decided as per your company’s hiring policy.

Q5. Are there any location constraints?

No, terms of employment and location can be decided as per your company’s policy.

Q6. Which institute do you let us get connected with?

You shall get direct access to students who are part of the Industry led Minor degree programme in Advanced Web Development at 136 institutes.

Q7. What is the curriculum in which students are trained on?

Students would be familiar with the following stack.

[1] The stack for Batch 2 onwards will be based around Express (JS)

[2] Tools/Stack used in WD401 is subject to change as the curriculum is in active development.

The detailed curriculum details can be found in
Model Curriculum for Minor Degree in Advanced Web Development, pages 21-31.

Q8. What is the process for hiring the students?

Once we share the pool of students for hiring, your companies standard hiring policy can be followed.

Q9. We also hire Embedded systems engineers and hardware engineers. Any such interns ?

No, we do not have such courses at present.

Q10. Are there any fees payable for participation?

Nil, for early adopters

Q11. Will we be receiving CV along with candidate contact details?

Once candidates are ready for hiring, we will share all the required details with you, including contact
details, after taking consensus from the students.

Q12. What will be your entry criteria to get candidates in?

Minor Degree in Advanced Web Development is open for all students from Institutes whose faculty coordinator has completed the faculty training requirements. However, to graduate the course, students should meet course learning outcomes designed by the industry.

Q14. What are you doing to increase diversity in your candidates?

Diversity and Gender Inclusion is one of the nice recommendations we are working with AICTE to solve for. Once the recommendations are approved at AICTE, we would be able implement and increase diversity in candidates.

We also appreciate suggestions from the industry partners as well that can be relayed to AICTE.

The link to recommendations submitted to AICTE is here.

Q15. Do you teach designing, UI/UX and technologies like WebGL also?

Yes, we have a course (Web Development 301) where students learn front-end development with React and TypeScript. The course outline can be found in Model Curriculum for Minor Degree in Advanced Web Development, pages 26-28.

Q16. Is there a SPOC for coordination of this program?

You can write to us at hiring@pupilfirst.org and our team will reach out to you and address your concerns.

Q17. It will be good to have an intern grading system who pass through your course. That way, it will be possible for the employers to pick candidates without an interview (any other process) and hence increase the hiring speed

As of now, we don't have any intern grading system. Our team is continuously working on enhancing the experience of users and will keep you updated on new additions and features.
