Welcome & Greeting

*Call to Worship (Psalm 106)

Leader:        Praise the Lord. Give thanks for God's goodness.

People:        God's steadfast love endures forever.

Leader:        Happy are those who observe justice,
who do righteousness at all times.

People:        Bless us, O Lord, and gather us

        that we may give thanks to your holy name,
and glory in your praise.

Leader:        Come and worship God!

*Prayer of Praise and Adoration                                                 UCC Worship Ways

Living God, at times you seem so distant; help us know you are near.
At times we stray; welcome us home.
Standing in your presence, we know there are other people we could be with;
help us bridge the gap between your presence and the people we love.
We pray in the name of Christ who lives and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.  Amen.

*Opening Hymn:                         Rejoice the Lord is KING!                 DARWALL’S 148TH

1 Rejoice, the Lord is King:
The risen Christ adore!
Rejoice, give thanks, and sing,

and triumph evermore.
Lift up your heart,
Lift up your voice!
Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!

2 God’s reign can never fail,
Christ rules o’er earth and heaven;

the keys of death and hell
are to our Jesus given:

Lift up your heart,
Lift up your voice!
Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!

3 Rejoice in glorious hope!
For Christ our  judge shall come
to glorify the saints

for their eternal home:
Lift up your heart,
Lift up your voice!
Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!

*Passing the Peace – please greet one another by waving to others in our church family.

Scripture Background

Scripture Lesson:                        Philippians 4:1-9 (NRSV)

Therefore, my brothers and sisters, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, my beloved. I urge Euodia and I urge Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. Yes, and I ask you also, my loyal companion, help these women, for they have struggled beside me in the work of the gospel, together with Clement and the rest of my

co-workers, whose names are in the book of life. Rejoice in the Lord always; again, I will say, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.

*Closing Hymn:                 Lord, Dismiss Us with Your Blessing                 SICILIAN MARINERS

1 Lord, dismiss us with your blessing;
fill our hearts with joy and peace;
let us each, your love possessing,
triumph in redeeming grace.
O refresh us, O refresh us,
trav'ling through this wilderness.

2 Thanks we give and adoration
for your gospel's joyful sound:
may the fruits of your salvation
in our hearts and lives abound:
ever faithful, ever faithful
to the truth may we be found.
