Notes from author: The title picture for the chapter should be a pie chart or graph listing crimes in general.

the words “Crime in the United States” overlaid on a background of a photo of some sort of crime alongside a pie chart with:

Crimes against property 63%

Crimes against persons 23%

Crimes against society 14%

Note from author: Need a drawing (would be nice to have 3 circles overlapping in middle for total crime statistics picture:

Chapter 3  (Bill Overby)

New image

(Image to accompany/precede “A Vignette”)…I am looking for an illustration depicting a younger man in his late teens/early 20s, with his father. They would be standing near an automobile (not high-end, but an every-day commuter-type car).  The car would be parked against the curb but parallel to the street. Just outside of the car should be something that can be associated with a criminal who, during the night, removed the car’s catalytic converter. I envision something like a rear tire lifted onto a concrete block. The two figures are looking at the car. Younger fellow, showing support, might have his arm on the shoulder of the older man, whose body language shows him to be dejected.

Location in chapter: 3.1.6  NEOCLASSICAL THEORIES

Notes from author: Chapter 3 (Image to replace the existing image entitled “Routine Activity Theory” on page 21. This Venn diagram is correct EXCEPT the word CRIME needs to be located in the overlap (shared area by the three circles. As it stands now it lends confusion as to whether all three requirements are necessary for a crime to be committed (which is correct), or just two. All words within the box’s boundaries need to remain, but be reorganized for a cleaner appearance.

Location in chapter:  “to accompany/precede 3.1.9 Cultural Deviance Theories”

Note from author:  I am seeking an illustration depicting a male or small group of males who may be associated with a lower socio-economic class and be labeled as “hoodlums”. Dress might be a bit unkempt to slovenly. Gathered in a back alley or garage situation. NOTE: I reserve the right to continue to seek a representative online photo image for this item, as I’m not certain an illustration will convey what I have in my mind.

Location in text:  “Image to accompany/precede ‘Ethical Dilemma’”

Note from author: I am looking for an image of a youthful (16-17 years of age) female driver, with a modern “today look” hair style, clothing and facial accoutrements. She is seated behind the steering wheel, looking to her left where the police officer is standing. The officer is not the focus of this illustration, however…it is the expression on the face of the girl I’m after—one of “I can’t believe you just said that!” depicting astonishment and a bit of indignation.

Chapter 4 (Hailey )

Chapter 6 (Bill Overby)

New image

Location in chapter:  Image to accompany/precede “A Vignette”

Note from author: four college-aged students seated at a table or common area in a coffee shop. One should be a male with eyeglasses and Asian features; a female with Latinx features; a Caucasian male, and a fourth person who is “gender fusion”. They should be enjoying a cup of coffee each and discussion. A backpack or two in the scene would be appropriate. Their conversation is one of engagement, regarding their varied perspectives about the criminal legal system.

Location in chapter: Image to accompany/precede “Ethical Dilemma”

Note from author:  I am looking for an illustration of an exterior storefront for a restaurant (ideally a Mexican restaurant, but could be any other ethnicity). Nothing grandiose here; rather, it will be more effective if it looks comfy, and a bit reclusive. To the side of the restaurant should be one or more police vehicles, not to exceed 3.
