SERMON STUDY
REFLECT
- What makes somebody an everyday Christian?
- How has a non-vocational, everyday Christian impacted your spiritual growth?
ENCOUNTER
The sermon study today will focus on non-vocational, everyday Christians that God used to accomplish his purposes, everyday Christians that God employed in his service. The Apostle Paul is heralded as one of the greatest Christian workers (and the greatest missionary) to ever live. Yet his ministry was heavily dependent on the volunteer efforts of non-vocational, everyday Christians.
Spend some time as a growth group reading through the following passages concerning some of Paul’s fellow ministers. Then ask the two questions listed below for each of them:
- Acts 9:10-19 (Ananias)
- Acts 18:1-3, 18-19, 24-28 (Priscilla & Aquila)
- Romans 16:1-15 (Miscellaneous)
- 1 Corinthians 16:15-18 (Stephanas, Fortunatus, & Achaicus)
- Ephesians 6:21-22, Colossians 4:7-8 (Tychicus)
- Philippians 2:25-30, 4:18 (Epaphroditus)
- Philemon 4-7 (Philemon)
- What ministry did they accomplish in the life of Paul?
- What were the results of that ministry?
TRANSFORM
- How are you currently involving yourself in ministry inside or outside the walls of the church?
- What areas of Christian ministry do you need to take a step forward in? What next steps do you need to take in that endeavor?
PRAYER REQUESTS
