Executive Director (0.25 FTE, One-Year Term)

Job Description

The Good Trouble Coalition (GTC) seeks a strategic, mission-driven leader to serve as Executive Director on a part-time basis (approximately 10 hours/week). This one-year position will focus on organizational leadership, fundraising, advocacy, and operational management. Continuation beyond the first year will be based on performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Leadership & Governance
  1. Collaborate with Board to execute organizational strategy
  2. Attend board meetings, prepare reports, and implement board decisions
  3. Drive mission-aligned organizational growth and impact
  1. Fundraising & Development
  1. Lead fundraising strategy: develop annual plan, cultivate donors, and manage grant lifecycle
  2. Research and apply for grants; oversee timely applications and reporting
  3. Engage donors, funders, and partner organizations
  1. Advocacy & Public Engagement
  1. Represent GTC at public forums, coalitions, and media appearances
  2. Coordinate campaigns to influence state-level healthcare policy
  3. Work with community members to promote civic engagement and voting in healthcare advocacy
  1. Program Implementation
  1. Oversee execution of advocacy campaigns, including planning and logistics
  2. Evaluate activity impact; track outcomes and iterate strategy
  1. Communications & Outreach
  1. Maintain a strong public presence through social media, newsletter, and press
  2. Act as spokesperson for healthcare advocacy and science-driven policy
  3. Expand stakeholder networks including political, public health, and community partners
  1. Operations & Financial Oversight
  1. Coordinate with finance/bookkeeper on budgeting, financial reporting, and fund allocation
  2. Ensure compliance with 501(c)(4) regulations, nonprofit governance practices

Qualifications

  • Indiana resident
  • Experience in nonprofit or advocacy leadership.
  • Proven success in fundraising and grant writing.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Background in policy advocacy or grassroots organizing.
  • Ability to work with initiative and independently and flexibly in a part-time role.

Compensation & Application
