STUDENTS IN THE COMMUNICATION ARTS PROGRAM AT MONTGOMERY BLAIR HIGH SCHOOL WIN $6,000 IN PRIZE MONEY IN THIS YEAR’S C-SPAN STUDENTCAM COMPETITION.
Montgomery Blair High School students created short documentaries addressing this year’s C-SPAN question, “What’s Your Vision in 2020?” The winners of the 2020 StudentCam competition were announced Wednesday, March 11.th C-SPAN received over 2,500 video submissions this year from almost 5,300 students nationally. Young-Bin Lee and Lintaro Donovan won Second Prize for their documentary, “Democracy Must Be Learned: Civics Education and Youth Engagement.” It will air on C-SPAN at 6:50 a.m. ET on April 1st and throughout the month of April.
Two groups from Blair also took home Third Prize. Clara Rayburn & Celeste Basken won for “Seeds of Change: Protecting Agriculture from the Changing Climate” and Emmanuel Kraft, Michael Dinkel & Liam Volz won for “Homeless Not Hopeless.” They will air on C-SPAN on April 1 at 6:50 a.m. ET and throughout the month.
