Dr. Salim G. Shaikh is a distinguished academician and researcher with over 18 years of experience in the field of Computer Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering from Amity University, Jaipur, a Master of Engineering in Computer Engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University. Currently serving as Associate Professor and Head of the CSE (AIML) Department at Anjuman-I-Islam’s Kalsekar Technical Campus, He has demonstrated academic leadership and a deep commitment to innovation in education and research. He has published extensively in reputed SCI and Scopus-indexed journals and conferences, with notable contributions in disease prediction, artificial intelligence, deep learning, nature-inspired computing, and healthcare recommender systems. He has also worked on a design patent titled “Denoising Medical Images.” Also, he is the author of two internationally published books: “Software for Bank Lead Management System: LMS Case Study” (ISBN-10: 6206845931, ISBN-13: 978-6206845935) and “Security in Wireless Channel of RFID System” (ISBN-13: 978-3-659-22939-8). SUMMARY OF PHD DISSERTATION:

Vector-borne diseases (VBD) pose a growing threat in India, complicating public health efforts despite widespread awareness of their societal impact. A significant portion of the Indian population is affected annually by these diseases, with varying living standards and geographical diversity further complicating early management. This research focuses on analyzing VBD symptoms and the influence of clinical test criteria on these symptoms, targeting different types of VBD due to their increasing prevalence.

The primary objective is to develop a model for disease prediction and recommendations to patients about the severity of the disease. This includes a Modified Support Vector Machine (mSVM) and a Hybrid Machine Learning (HML) prediction model for early detection and classification of VBD stages. The model's development involves five steps: Data Conversion, Data Pre-processing (including cleaning and eliminating irrelevant data), Feature Extraction and Normalization, Dataset Partitioning (70:30 ratio for training and testing), and Model Construction and Prediction.

The proposed mSVM and HML models have been rigorously tested and validated, achieving notable accuracies of 98.15% and 98.52%, respectively, surpassing other classifiers. For recommendations, reinforcement learning techniques, including Q-learning and RNN similarity functions, were employed to assess VBD severity, highlighting the model's potential as a breakthrough in early VBD prediction and recommendation.
