Club & Activity Day Options


All NHMS students sign up for a club or activity to attend during scheduled Club and Activity Days throughout the school year. Sign ups occur once per semester. On Club and Activity Days, the Club Schedule posted here is followed. The club and activity period is from 1:50 p.m. to 2:26 p.m.

2024-25 Dates


3v3 Basketball

Students play 3 on 3 basketball.

Beginning/Intermediate Speed Cubing

Whether you are new to the Rubik's cube or ready to compete, this is the club for you to develop and show off your skills.

Bingo Club

We will play bingo each week with new cards, holiday themes, and digital versions of the game! Come relax and unwind your day by enjoying time with friends and playing a fun game of Bingo!

Blooket Club 1

Students will use various online quiz programs to play student chosen topics.

Blooket Club 2 & 3

Join us for the Blooket Club, where you can have fun while learning! Through interactive, fast-paced online games, you will build teamwork and sharpen your critical thinking skills in a lively, engaging environment. It's a great way to combine education and entertainment!

Board Game Club

Students will get the opportunity to play board games with their peers.

Board Games, Puzzles and Brain Teasers

Seeking students who have a deep interest in playing games the old fashion way.  This club is for students who enjoy various types of board games, card games, jigsaw puzzles, and brain teasers. Examples include Rebus puzzles, Uno, Apples to Apples, Cards, Monopoly, Battleship, Operation, and Clue just to name a few.

Brilliant Bakers

Students will become Brilliant Bakers by baking various non-bake desserts! Important baking skills such as measuring ingredients, following directions, and working as a team will be practiced.

Bullet Journaling Club

Love doodling? Love cool fonts and marker techniques? Want to get a better handle on your to-do list or find ways to be more mindful and de-stress?   Bullet journaling can help!  Participants will make their own bullet journal and learn how to be creative with it! No need to be an expert artist to bullet journal!

Calming Coloring

Students will be provided with a variety of mindful, stress relieving designs to color as they listen to relaxing, calming music. Students will be given the choice to color alone, with a partner or in a small group. Sharing and talking with peers will be encouraged

Chess Club

This chess club will be a gathering place where enthusiasts of all skill levels come together to play, learn, and discuss the game, often fostering a sense of camaraderie and friendly competition. It's a space for players to hone their strategies, share insights, and enjoy the intellectual challenge that chess offers. We may switch between virtual and in person chess based on enrollment and skill levels.

Coloring Craze

Students will have a chance to select various coloring options/activities while enjoying music and relaxing.  

Comic Book/Superhero Club

In this club, we would talk about and discuss all the different superheroes that we know and love. Students will have the chance to do activities based on the superheroes and comics as well as watching clips from superhero movies and playing superhero themed games.

Crochet for Beginners

Learn basic crochet techniques using a crochet hook, stitch markers, and yarn. We will learn, practice, then work on several projects to create small animals as a group. If you are an intermediate or advanced crocheter, you may work on a project of your own skill level independently.

Curl Up with a Good Book

Wind down your day!  Bring your favorite book to enjoy!

Disney Parks Fan Club

Do you love talking about rope drops and Dole Whips? Then join the Disney Parks Fan Club where we’ll learn about all things Disney Parks!

Dungeons and Dragons Club

Come learn to play Dungeons and Dragons. We will make characters, learn rules, discuss how to make adventures, and we will play them.

Family Card Night

Do you love playing card games? Join this club to learn some fun and easy games you can play with your friends and family?

Festive Fun

This club will celebrate the seasons and give students an opportunity to learn about different traditions throughout the world.

Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)

We will partner with the current High School FBLA chapter and learn the basics of what it takes to start and run your own business as we complete various philanthropic projects.

History at the Movies

The "History at the Movies" Club invites middle school students to explore the past through captivating historical films, bringing pivotal events and inspiring figures to life on screen. After each movie, students will engage in discussions to connect the stories to real-world history and deepen their understanding of the events portrayed.

Hockey Club

To look at all things ice hockey related including local, college, and professional levels of ice hockey.  

Homework Club

Need help catching up on missing assignments, homework or even improving your study skills? Look no further! Students are welcome to join if they are serious about getting caught up on missing work or need help studying for assessments. The club teacher will assist students with checking google classroom, powerschool and organizing their materials.

Knot-Tying

Students will explore different types of knots that are useful for camping, utility, and everyday life. We will reference media to help learn the knots, then practice using paracord/rope in the classroom

Lego Club

During each meeting of the Lego Club, students will need to use creativity, problem-solving, communication and collaboration to successfully use Legos to build solutions to various design challenges.  Lego Club will provide students with challenges for which they must use innovative thinking to find and build a solution.  

Lego Robotics

LEGO Mindstorms is a robotics kit that combines LEGO building elements with programmable components, allowing users to create and control robots through a visual programming interface. This club is for first time students who have not signed up for the club before.

Middle School Manis 

Join us while we paint our nails, practice the latest trends, and engage in some friendly artistic challenges while we chat and chill!

Nitroball

Nitroball is a fast paced game that is a mashup up volleyball and 4 square rules. With a lower net and the ball bouncing before each hit all players have the opportunity to be involved in the game. Teamwork is paramount in this game.

Paper Football Club 1

Students will make their own paper footballs and play against each other.

Paper Football Club 2

Students will learn how to make paper footballs and will compete in weekly matches.  

Puzzle Club

Students will have the opportunity to complete puzzles of various sizes. This can be an individual activity or they can work collaboratively.

Rebus (Word/Picture) Puzzle Club

Do you enjoy riddles, puns, plays on words and clever sayings? The Rebus Puzzle Club will give you the opportunity to put your skills to the test in figuring out words and phrases using pictures, word color, word placement, word size and more! These puzzles are digital and vary in level of challenge - no need for prior experience! They are fun to do alone or with a group of friends! Join us for some puzzling pictures and a chance to hang with old friends and to make some new friends! Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join!

Scratch

Scratch is a block-based visual programming language and website aimed at middle school students. The students will make video games using scratch.

Service Club

Students will be participating in various service related activities throughout the year. Activities will include Peer Buddy Field Trips, school wide collection for Thanksgiving food items for families in need, Christmas craft for nursing home patients, school wide Valentine sales to benefit the Reflections of Grace Foundation, welcome bags for the Ronald McDonald House.... and more!

Silent Ball Club

The students will compete against each other while silently throwing a ball.

Sketchbook Club

Each member of the sketchbook club will receive a personal sketchbook.  During each club meeting, students may freely draw, or use the prompt we put up on the board. At the end of the semester, students may take their sketchbooks home to use.

Small-Sided Soccer Club

We will play games of soccer in small teams, depending on the number of students who join. We will go outside, so be ready for the weather! If it's too cold to go outside, we will use an indoor space to practice juggling.

Sports Highlights Club

We will be watching highlights of various sports that occurred in between club meetings, choosing the top highlights of the week.  There will be occasional trivia games as well.

Sports Discussion/Debate Club

Students will discuss current sports events and develop debating skills regarding sport topics.

Stage Crew Club

Students will learn stage set up, auditorium technology, and concert processes.

Student Advisory Club

This club provides a platform for students to develop critical thinking, teamwork, and public speaking abilities through a variety of activities, including organizing school events, participating in service projects, and leading peer discussions. Members are encouraged to take on roles that challenge them to be proactive, responsible, and collaborative, while also promoting a positive and inclusive school culture

Swifties

In Swifties, Swifties will have the chance to meet and hang out with other Swifties while listening and dancing to Taylor Swift's music. Other activities may include making friendship bracelets and watching parts of current and past tours.

UNO Card Club

UNO card club will allow students to participate in many different types of UNO games for social interaction.

Walk and Talk

"Walk and Talk" is a student club that encourages social interaction and physical activity through group walks. The club is all about bringing together students who enjoy good conversation while getting some fresh air when possible and exercise. Students should expect to walk 1-1.5 miles during a club period.

Watercolor Painting

Students will use simple watercolors to paint their own designs or fill in a pre-printed picture.

Writing Club

Students will explore different forms of creative writing and will work toward publication of selected works. Students will receive opportunities for feedback on their writing and engage in discussions about the writing process.

Yoga

Students will learn and practice beginning yoga poses.
