Next up, local sports:

SETH

Good morning NS! Thanks for tuning in! I’m Seth Hubler with your Spartan Sports segment:

Congratulations to the Boys Soccer team on their 1-0 victory over Pottsville Area last night, securing a spot in the Schuylkill League playoffs!

Brenden Yotko scored the game-winning goal on an unassisted breakaway, while Braiden Davis recorded 6 saves to earn the shutout.

Braiden also made school history! His 6 shutouts this season tied Kaden Onuschak’s single-season record, while his 11 career shutouts set a new school record, breaking the previous mark of 8, also held by Onuschak.

Congratulations to Braiden and the entire team!

Both Spartan soccer teams will compete in the Schuylkill League quarterfinals this Saturday at North Schuylkill.

The Lady Spartans will face Tri-Valley, while the Boys Soccer team's opponent has yet to be announced. Game times are also to be determined.

All students, including North Schuylkill students, must purchase a ticket. North Schuylkill sports passes and employee badges will not be accepted for playoff games.

Good luck to the Spartan Football team tonight as they host Blue Mountain.  Kickoff time tonight is 7 pm.

That’s it for me! Now back to Megatron:

Winners should stop by the office sometime during the day to pick up your prize.

And finally for lunch we will be having Max Pizza Sticks.

Tune in Monday and every day at 7:40 for our In the News Announcements.

I’m Blake Brown.

And that’s the final whistle. We’ll see you on Monday.

Good luck to both soccer teams and the football team! GO SPARTANS AND BEARS!
