How am I handling Covid-19? You had to say the C-word, didn't you...
Well, since you asked: my house and pavilion in Nashville can hold up to 150 guests comfortably. For Cabin Camp, we'll only have 35-40 campers tops. This will allow all campers to stay clear of other campers as much as they desire. Plus, all group instruction will take place outside (weather permitting). If we do have weather issues, we'll gather under the pavilion and a large screened back porch which will allow us to continue sessions with lots of space. I have a big ol' backyard, so we won't have any issues. I had two back-to-back camps in July with no problems whatsoever.
What about bathrooms? Oh, that's maybe the best part! I spare no expense and provide great-smelling, clean porta potties that are big enough to turn a cartwheel in!
Below is a summary of the guidelines I've put in place for my Cabin Camp:
All my facilities will be cleaned like crazy everyday. That means we'll wipe down the frequently touched areas and surfaces, including those beautiful porta potties! We'll disinfect these spaces several times a day using CDC recommended products. Hand sanitizer will be provided and available throughout Cabin Camp.
Attendees will not be required to wear masks, but you can if you want to. I'll be up front–I won't be wearing a mask and I suspect most campers won't. But I'm also not gonna be all up in your face, either. And please don't be all up in mine :) I'd love to shake your hand, though!
We'll sterilize eating and serving surfaces before every meal. Campers will be asked to wash or sanitize hands prior to eatin', too. Campers will be staggered at meal times to make sure we have enough space. Seating during meal times will be in the big pavilion–plenty o' room. No self-serve food stations or buffets, but that's okay because my staff wants to serve you like royalty anyway! We'll even wash our hands till they shine and use gloves, too!
Let me say this: I do ask that any campers with any of the symptoms identified on the CDC website to please stay home and not get anybody else sick (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html). Please note that I & my staff will abide by the recommendations and requirements of local government throughout the camp. Thank you!
Ultimately, you need to make your own decision and feel comfortable attending my Cabin Camp. If you have safety concerns or are uncomfortable around folks, this is probably not the best time to attend my Cabin Camp. Lord willing, we'll have many in the future! I hope you do come!
