- Be compliant with VRChat’s Creator Guidelines and Furality’s Code of Conduct.
- Be in PNG format only, and no larger than 10 MB in file size.
- Include a Submission Title and the Artist to credit.
General Advice
- Image Sizing: Try to upload an image that is 2000 pixels on the longest edge. (We don’t need anything bigger)
- Remember the theme: We love content based on the Furality Umbra theme. Refer to the Avatar Style Guide for ideas on how to draw characters on theme.
- Use your best discretion: Submissions that depict or imply controversial themes need to meet a higher threshold of artistic value to be included. Submissions depicting offensive themes will not be accepted.
- Keep Watermarks Tasteful: Avoid placing watermarks across the artwork, such as URLs, as this may result in the artwork not being included.
- Titles Are Important: Make sure you pick a title that resonates specifically with the image you are submitting.
- Multiple Submissions: Multiple submissions are welcome. Just use the submission form multiple times.
Acceptance Process
The Furality Umbra Art Gallery is a diverse and inclusive snapshot of art within the VR furry fandom. Once submissions have closed, the Art Gallery Team curates submissions received to create an experience for our attendees. To help guide this process, the team frequently considers the following:
- Thematic Relevance: Is the artwork relevant to the furry fandom, virtual reality, or the theme of Furality Umbra?
- Originality and Creativity: Is the artwork original? Does it show unique perspectives or interpretations? Does it attract attention?
- Artistic Quality: Is the artwork a good representation of its creative style?
- Presentation: Does the artwork have sufficient resolution? Have a clear title?
- Diversity and Inclusion: Does the artwork add to the diversity of the art gallery? Does it explore themes, techniques, species, or genders that other submissions don't?
However, the Furality Umbra Art Gallery is not a ranking of artists because the biggest reasons that might lead to a submission not being accepted are:
- Cohesiveness: Does the artwork fit in well with the overall experience that's being created by the team?
- Technical Limitations: Can we actually fit another submission? Do we have enough room and texture memory left?
Key Dates
- Submission Deadline: Submissions are expected to close on Thursday the 25th of April (EST). Please have your submission uploaded before this date to ensure it is considered.
- Acceptance Emails: We will notify you by email if your submission has been accepted on or before Saturday the 18th of May (EST).
Final notes
- No registration is required to submit artwork to the Art Gallery.
- Collaborative art pieces are welcome, just be sure to credit both artists on the submission form.
