Welcome to Denton County’s first 100K!
In this document, you will find information that will make this a successful event for you, whether this is your first or fiftieth trail race. We would like to thank the local trail stewards at the Knob Hills Trail and DORBA for allowing us to use their trail for this event.
We are a cup-free event, please make sure that you have a hydration system (at least a handheld) to use during the event. We will have cups for cola at the aid stations, they are for that purpose only.

Cup-free racing
This race will be a cup free event. You must carry a bottle or another type of hydration system. Water and HEED will be available at aid stations to refill as needed. There will not be paper cups at aid stations.
Additionally, there will be trash receptacles at each aid station. If you are using gels or other food items, please do not discard them on the trail! Carry your trash with you to the next aid station. If you are caught littering, you will be disqualified and escorted from the course.
Course markings
The course will be marked with streamers, pin flags, arrows, and wrong way signs.
Please remember to be aware of your surroundings and to pay attention to the trail, especially at intersections. The person in front of you does not always know where they’re going. Make sure that you can hear people approach and look out for each other. If you are going to wear earbuds, we ask that you leave the left ear open so you can hear runners wanting to pass.
Course and Aid Stations
This tour of nature will take you through wooded canopies, around swampy bogs and open prairies, and over rolling hills. You'll experience the best of what nature in the DFW area has to offer. The trail is single track, one way and not terribly technical. That said, you’ll find some rocks and roots along the way, enough elevation to keep things interesting and some sweeping vistas as well.
The 100k, 50k, and 25k will cover the entirety of the Knob Hills Trail as well as over 2 miles of fresh trail on the Scout property in a counter clockwise direction.
The 10k will cover sections of the Knob Hills Trail starting at the Scout Barn, following all of loop 4 and a small section of loop 3, all of loop 6, and back to the Scout Barn.
100k = 4 loops
50k = 2 loops
25k = 1 loop
10k = 1 modified loop
*1 loop is 15.5 miles
