Faculty Instructions to Arrange DSPS Remote Proctoring via Zoom
*Available to SBCC DSPS registered students only*
Proctoring Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:30am - 5:30pm & Friday 8:30am - 2:00pm
- Students should only be directed to request a DSPS Remote Proctor if:
- The test will be proctored for all the other students in the class.
- Note that, if the other students’ test will not be supervised, DSPS students are entitled to take the test with accommodations unsupervised, as well.
- The student requires scribe or reader accommodations.
- You have been informed by the DSPS department that your current proctoring method does not meet the student’s disability based needs.
- You or the student have a time conflict. If you have a time conflict, please email your student and copy dsps-testbooking@pipeline.sbcc.edu to begin the arrangements.
- Ideally, 5 or more days in advance, you will receive a DSPS Remote Proctor Request Form from your DSPS student, renamed with the student’s K# . One form per student, per test is required.
Note: If you receive a late request, processing it will be at your discretion and availability. Students are advised to send all their requests in at the beginning of the semester. DSPS needs at least 48 hours to process requests.
- Please download the electronically fillable PDF document, and carefully complete only the instructor portion (pg. 2). Save your changes and email the completed form to dsps-testbooking@pipeline.sbcc.edu at least 48 hours in advance.
Note: It is important that the document be completed electronically--please do not print and hand write your instructions.
- Extended Time and Test Delivery Instructions (if applicable):
Important: To allow DSPS to proctor (both remotely or in-person) in lieu of third party automated proctoring services, please make the corresponding arrangements:
- For Proctorio: Make the exam flexible on Canvas and provide DSPS with the bypass code.
- For Respondus: Create a separate copy of the test in Canvas. Disable Respondus Monitor and/or Respondus Lockdown Browser. Assign it to the DSPS student/s with the corresponding Respondus settings based on the required accommodations. Create a password (access code) and share it with DSPS. Update the Canvas Gradebook accordingly.
For assistance using third-party proctoring services, contact the FRC via email at frc-group@pipeline.sbcc.edu. For questions regarding how specific student accommodations may be impacted or implemented during remote testing, contact DSPS at dsps-testbooking@pipeline.sbcc.edu.
DISCLAIMER: Please keep in mind the integrity of your test may be compromised when using email. The test file will be shared with the DSPS Proctor assigned to your student. DSPS will use the ‘Share Screen’ feature to show the student the test to mitigate integrity issues. You may want to consider revising your tests in the future.
- After the test takes place you will receive the final copy of the DSPS Remote Proctor Test Request form with a complete DSPS Proctor report (pg. 3) for your review. If applicable, you will also receive scanned images of the student’s answers/work for tests that require written answers. We encourage you to review each form carefully as any anomalies will be communicated to you via this document.
