Principal’s Welcome Letter

Dear CASLV Windmill Families,

As the principal of Windmill campus, it is my pleasure to welcome all of you to the 2020-2021 school year! We are all excited to have students back in our virtual classrooms filling them with energy and enthusiasm for learning. Our Board of Directors has concluded that all Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas (“CASLV”) campuses will start and operate the 2020-2021 school year with Full-time Distance Learning. Full-time distance learning will be in place for the entire first quarter. We will continually re-evaluate the learning model for the 2nd quarter. The first day of school for students is August 24, 2020.

The coming school year will be challenging and it will be different. There is no perfect solution, but whatever we do, our children must know we are standing with them every step of the way.  I am here, as a leader and a father of seven children. We will succeed as one unified family, leaving no one behind. In the days, weeks, and months ahead, we will be challenged like never before. For our children’s sake, we must succeed. We strive to challenge each student to grow in his/her academic abilities. At Windmill, we have great teachers who spend hours on planning and creating classroom activities to engage our students in learning. The exciting addition of new staff, new families, and new programs will make our school better.

We are delighted to welcome the following staff to the CASLV Windmill who will bring positive change:

We believe that all of us – the school and the community – must work together in an extended family environment to ensure success for all our students.  We believe it is everyone’s responsibility to empower children with the creative, intellectual, and decision-making skills necessary for them to become academically, socially, physically, and emotionally successful and responsible. With that in mind, you are invited to be an active participant at the Windmill campus.  Whether you are a classroom volunteer, a member of the PTO, a special event participant, or a member of one of our school communities, you are encouraged to be involved!

I am honored to serve as the principal of Windmill campus. It is truly a privilege to serve the students, parents, staff, and community of such a remarkable district. My goal is to ensure that all children are healthy, happy, and safe, so they may learn as much as they can. I will work tirelessly to ensure all students have the best possible experience while at Windmill.

It is my desire to keep you informed of all that is taking place at school.  Up-to-date and additional information will be sent to you periodically.  If you have questions or concerns that arise at any time, please do not hesitate to contact me via email at batas@coralacademylv.org or call me at 702-485-3410.

Canvas is a highly regarded online learning platform utilized by multiple schools, colleges, and universities across the nation including CSN and UNLV. Please take some time before August 24th to visit the Canvas link and learn more about our new learning platform. Below is an informative video for parents:

This year also, our school district is using Clever as an easy way for your child to access all the learning applications they use at school. They can access all the resources they use at school in one location, using a single username and password. Students’ Clever login information was sent to you via email. If you have any questions regarding your Clever account please contact us at clever@coralacademylv.org or contact our campus registrar.
