  1. Once your manual arrives, you can prepare to teach a lesson:
  1. Start by actually reading the introductory sections of the manual.  There is very important information in there!
  2. You’ll want to start with the Getting Ready lessons to introduce the Sound Wall and, if needed, basic letter formation strokes. You can abbreviate these lessons if your students are ready. This is also when you’ll want to establish routines for materials and transitions with your students.
  3. Next, find your starting place for the core lessons in the scope and sequence (pages 40-43).
  4. Find your lesson in the Lesson Resources section of the Toolbox, and download the materials you'll need:
  1. Lesson Slide Deck
  2. Decodable Passage
  3. Home Practice Sheet
  4. Roll & Read
  1. Read over the lesson plan, especially Step 5: New Concept Introduction, and preview the alignment of the lesson slide deck to the components in the lesson plan
  2. Organize your materials
  3. Start teaching!
