UPDATED AS OF 4:18 p.m. 1/8/2025

Author’s note: The team at Mutual Aid L.A. launched their own spreadsheet tracking all resources. They’re a larger team, they have more info and better organization. I’m going to continue to update this list, but please, defer to their list.

NOTE: This is a work-in-progress list by me, a L.A. resident and journalist. Trying my best to keep it up to date. Please also follow and support Mutual Aid L.A., which has much better coordination and resources and is also compiling information for anyone in need. Stay safe.

OTHER RESOURCES/WHERE TO DONATE

Mutual Aid L.A. https://mutualaidla.org/

Water Drop L.A. https://www.instagram.com/waterdropla/

All Power Books in West Adams is offering water, wifi and charging for anyone in need. It’s mainly acting as a hub for picking up or dropping off supplies (food, water, masks, etc) for other mutual aid groups. But if you’re in an emergency and in the area. 4749 W. Adams Blvd. https://www.instagram.com/allpowerbooks/

All Planet Fitness gyms in L.A. County are open to members and non members to use showers and locker rooms, charge devices or utilize their WiFi.

The city’s 211 service and AirBNB are teaming up to offer free, temp housing for people displaced. AirBNB has all sorts of moral and ethical issues tied to the housing market, but if you are truly in need of a place to stay, get shelter.

Arts District Brewing Co. at 828 Traction Ave. is taking donations for clothes and supplies for those displaced. https://www.instagram.com/artsdistrictbrewing/?hl=en

The SELAH Neighborhood Homeless Coalition is open (at least for now, check updated hours) at Silverlake Community Church at 2930 Hyperion Ave. and providing meals, masks, water, supplies and charging. www.instagram.com/selahnhc

The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority has resources for families, youths, individuals and seniors in need of shelter and services. https://www.lahsa.org/get-help

You’ve probably already seen this but get the Watch Duty app. Free, useful app tracking fires, containment, evac centers, red flag zones, etc.

Mask Bloc LA has resources on getting good quality masks. They just distributed several hundred to the Pasadena Convention Center. The smoke is bad, wear a mask, that’s why we had so many in early 2020 anyway. Don’t breathe toxic smoky air.

Pasadena for All mainly focuses on helping our unhoused neighbors but they’re very helpful and might be able to provide info/services/assistance if you’re displaced.

Have debris blocking roads or anything? Call 311 to notify the Bureau of Street Services.

If there are power outages or downed powerlines, call DWP. ladwp.com/outages or 1-800-342-5397.

LAist has a good guide on building a go bag. Have a go bag ready, trust me.
