RSVPs, Guests, and Attendance Fees
RSVPs
BAFOE RSVPs are used by the organizer to estimate and manage the head count at venues and as a way for BAFOE regulars (and members who can plan ahead) to attend events at a low “with RSVP” fee. It’s also a way to let friends know you’re planning on attending. Please note that an RSVP is not a ticket for an attendance “spot” and they are not transferable to another person.
RSVPs close after a reservation period ends and there is no wait list for RSVP cancellations. However, if you miss the reservation window (which typically opens two weeks before an event when the event is announced and closes when the RSVP count reaches a venue-specific number), or decide you want to go at the last minute, you can still attend at a "walk-in" fee rate.
Guests
When you RSVP, you can add a guest – a “+1”. A guest is someone you’d like to accompany you to an event who is not a BAFOE member, such as a friend or a partner. Like RSVPs, “+1”s are not tickets that can later be given to another person. The attendance fee for guests is the same as for members.
Attendance Fees
BAFOE attendance fees are kept to a minimum and are set to simply cover the group’s operating expenses, including Meetup’s hefty organizer subscription charge.

The attendance fee is payable at check-in, in cash or via Venmo. To expedite the check-in process, cash is greatly preferred — ideally two dollar bills!
With Venmo, you can pay by scanning the BAFOE QR code or typing username @bafoe (Geoff). TIP: set up Venmo payment before you get to the welcome table to save time!
