Recording Booth Instructions

This audio recording can be done alone or in pairs. If in pairs, take turns introducing each other then use the questions below as a guide to spark a conversation. Try to limit excess noise such as jewelry, tapping on the table, toe tapping, etc.

After pressing record, begin by stating  the following:

  • My name is [full name]
  • I am  [age], pronouns, I am  [option to add anything else about yourself]
  • I have been a [teaching artist/teacher/artist] for [# of years]
  • My art form is [art form (movement, visual, theater, music, media, etc.]
  • I work/have worked at [name of school(s) or organization]

Guided Questions

The following questions are a guide for your recording. You do NOT have to answer all questions. If the conversation goes in a different direction, feel free to lean into that. Please answer in complete sentences. You will have a 20 minute limit.

  1. What is your earliest memory of being exposed to the Arts or this notion of “human creativity”? What kind of  impact did it have on your life, if at all?
  2. How did you become a Teaching Artist?
  3. How would you explain Arts Integration to someone outside of this work?
  4. Share a favorite memory of an Arts-integrated lesson and/or an interaction with a student and their art work.
  5. What are your hopes or thoughts around the future role of Arts Integration in schools in the global reality we are  living in at this present moment? (i.e. education systems, socio-political environment, climate change, and human development).
