Global City Actions for Plant Based Treaty
Join 50+ cities in the Plant Based Treaty soft launch
on August 31st, 2021
On Tuesday, August 31st, the Plant Based Treaty will launch and our website will go live. To mark this, there will be actions in front of more than 50 city halls inviting cities to endorse the Plant Based Treaty and to raise awareness.

Here are a few suggestions for actions you can take on August 31st in your town/city/country or region:
- Hold an action or event outside of City Hall
- Do a creative dance action and street performance. Varun will be sending a sample choreographed video with ideas for street theatre and dance moves
- Have speakers at the event
- Invite the mayor and all city councillors to attend and speak at the event. You can use this as an opportunity to build a relationship with local officials and explain the Plant Based Treaty. It will be an opportunity to find a champion who can then help introduce a PBT motion to the city council in coming weeks and months. We have prepared letters which you can send to your Mayor, City Councilors
- Invite special guests to your action or event. We have prepared a letter which you can send to celebrities and influencers
- Set up an informational booth to educate the public about the benefits of a plant-based diet
- Hold a Save Square and hand our special Plant Based Treaty business cards.
- Organize street postering, stickering, chalk art, and street murals

* Please note Adrienne George, marketing coordinator, is printing 50k business cards and 50k stickers for this campaign and can mail them to you if your chapter is unable to print them yourself. If you are able to print materials and need help with funding, there is a special PBT fund. Please send your budget proposal to budget@animalsavemovement.org and save your receipts.
