1. Welcome Letter

It is with great excitement and joy that we welcome you to the UWC Red Cross Nordic 10th Reunion! This special gathering marks a decade since your time on the fjord of Flekke, and we could not be more thrilled to bring together two generations of alumni for a celebration of memories, milestones, and the values that continue to unite us.

As we reconnect with old friends, meet new ones, and reflect on the paths we’ve taken, we’ll also honor the shared experiences that shaped us and the bonds that remain unbreakable across time and distance.

Over the course of this reunion, we invite you to relive the beauty of campus life through activities that connect us with the fjords and forests, engage in thoughtful conversations about the world we envision, and celebrate the diversity of our community through performances, stories, and shared meals. Together, we will not only celebrate our past but also imagine how we, as individuals and as a collective, can continue to make a meaningful impact in the years ahead.

Whether it has been years or mere months since your last visit to RCN, this is your home, and we are so happy to have you back. We hope this reunion becomes a cherished moment in your journey—a chance to rediscover the spirit of RCN and rekindle the friendships that make this place so extraordinary.

Here’s to celebrating peace, diversity, and two unforgettable generations of RCN alumni!

  1. A letter for Reunion Organizing Committee

We can’t wait to see you all!! <3333

We’ve created a website to keep all information readily available and updated: https://rcn-reunion.demarco.se/

On the website, you will find two important forms. One is the “Stay in touch” form, where you can update your contact information. The other is the “Activities” form, where you can provide input on what activities YOU would like to see happening – or maybe even organize? – at the reunion.

You will also find a link on how to apply for an alumni funded ticket if the cost of the reunion is prohibiting you from attending.

Do reach out to any of us if you have any questions and we’ll do our best to answer them or forward them to Edis. We’ll keep a log of previously asked and answers on the website.

Warmest of wishes

Reunion organizing team – Dylan, Emma, Katharina, Sara-Estelle, Sophia

  1. Travel Information

Transportation Options From Bergen/Førde to Flekke Summary

  • Highly recommend that people arrive into Bergen or Førde
  • Alumni are encouraged to plan their public transit routes to Flekke - schedules are below
  • Shuttle buses will be provided by the college from the Flekke bus stop. No other transportation is provided by the college.
  • At the moment it is cost prohibitive to arrange chartered transportation from any of the locations without a critical mass confirming, paying into the booking and committing to the established times of departure. It is estimated that without completely full charters, it will likely be more expensive than transit for the individual to pay into a charter arrangement, even after splitting up the cost.
  • We recommend that alumni book their journeys to Bergen or Førde. The committee can then review if there are critical masses that can travel as a group.

  1. Donations

To help as many alumni as possible attend, we’ve created a small financial aid system. When booking your ticket, you can choose to add a donation—which will go toward covering tickets for classmates who would otherwise not be able to join. Small donations matter!

  1. Financial Aid

If you need support to attend the reunion, you can apply for a pre-funded ticket (covered by alumni contributions) by March 31st.

  • Funded by fellow alumni who add an optional contribution when purchasing their ticket (all amounts welcome, kept confidential)
  • Applies to the attendance ticket only (not travel)
  • Funds distributed to those who indicate they would be unable to attend without aid
  • Applications viewed only by the organizing group and kept confidential
  • If requests exceed available funds, tickets distributed at random with a waitlist
  • Funds distributed on April 5th—applicants notified shortly after
  • Any surplus carries forward to support future reunions

To apply for a pre-funded ticket (covered by alumni contributions), please fill out this form no later than March 31st.

Financial Aid Key Points:

  • Financial aid is funded by fellow alumni who choose to add an optional contribution when purchasing their own ticket (in any amount, smaller donations are possible!). The additional contributions are kept confidential.
  • The financial aid only applies to the cost of the attendance ticket (not travel).
  • The aid funds for tickets will be distributed to folks who submit the form above indicating that without aid they would be unable to attend the reunion. We will aim to cover as many full tickets as possible depending on the amount that is donated by our class!
  • Applications will be viewed only by the volunteers from the reunion organizing group. All applications will be kept confidential.
  • If requests exceed available funds, tickets will be distributed at random. Anyone remaining would be put on a waitlist and contacted with more information about next steps if any are possible.
  • Funds will be distributed on April 5, and applicants will be notified shortly thereafter.
  • Any surplus funds will be carried forward to support financial aid for next year’s reunion.

[a]I believe this link is incorrect. @edis.pajic@uwcrcn.no if there's not a separate accommodation form already, would you like me to add one to Notion? If so, just let me know what fields the school would need.
