1.🚨 Stop arming Israel and free Palestine!

URGENT: Israel is expanding its genocide against the Palestinian people, with the largest-scale military invasion of the West Bank since 2002. Escalate for Palestine now. Demand an IMMEDIATE arms embargo to cut off the endless supply of U.S. weapons and military funding fueling this genocide.

TAKE ACTION:

2. Plan an action to resist genocide on Sat. Oct. 5, 2024

Organize an action in your community.

3. Organize your local community to stop arming Israel

  • WE CHARGE GENOCIDE: Makes calls & plan your own Power Hour for Palestine to pressure your reps to stop arming Israel.
  • FUND CARE, NOT KILLING: Disrupt, disrupt, disrupt! Take action to protest weapons to Israel using your activist toolbox, and tag @uscpr (IG) & @uscpr_ (Twitter) so we can amplify.
  • EVERY 4 MINUTES Israel kills a Palestinian in Gaza. Visualize this violence with a disruptive noise (ex: air horn) every 4 minutes, or honor the martyrs symbols like flags and by telling stories and sharing photos so the memory of Palestinians murdered by Israel lives on.

Find ways to take action below, from visuals to protests to birddogging. You can find even more resources, like flyers, signs, and toolkits, in your Not My Tax Dollars activist toolbox.

VISUALS: Distribute posters/flyers about how much money your Senators receive from AIPAC or J Street.
Look up your senator on
OpenSecrets.

Example from HoCo 4 A Free Palestine

MOVEMENT: Disrupt transportation, especially around an event where the Senator will be: a car caravan to their town hall or public event, or flooding the train station with people. Ex: Jewish Voice for Peace bridge actions

PROTEST: Disrupt business as usual of our elected officials or their political allies (ex: local electeds with relationship to your Senators).

Ex: CA state assembly disruption

WAKE-UP CALLS: Conduct a ‘wake up call’ visit to members of Congress’s houses or offices.

GO BIG: Organize posters, a banner drop, mass postering, or projection in a key location likely to be seen by elected officials and their allies. Consider using this image with credit to @fifithephoenix

BIRDDOG: Birddog members of Congress so that they can’t be seen in public without being confronted about their choice to fund killing over care for constituents’ human needs. Here’s an example from #ShutDownDC! Special shame on Senators Warner, King, Kelly, Cornyn, Gillibrand, Ossoff who met with Netanyahu in early Jan.!

To get support from our staff & organizing coaches to pull it off, contact leah@uscpr.org.

4. Look up: How much of your community’s tax dollars fund genocide?

Every year, the U.S. government writes Israel a blank check for at least $3.8 billion. With your federal U.S. tax dollars, the Israeli military is bombing Gaza and wiping out entire Palestinian families right now. Find out how much people in your city pay, and what could be funded instead.

See the map at NotMyTaxDollars.org & share on social media

Wherever you go, make sure everyone knows that Israel is mass murdering Palestinian families with our tax dollars. Find flyers, signs, and other resources in your Not My Tax Dollars Activist Toolbox.

Share the people’s demands: Fund care, not killing! Our U.S. government should be funding care for our communities instead of militarism, policing, and prisons. Share this graphic on social media with #NotMyTaxDollars.

. Take action for Palestine at Pride events

Reject pinkwashing! We demand that Pride organizations heed the call from Queer and Trans people of conscience to divest from genocide and call for an end to arming Israel. Check out all the ways you can take action in our No Pride in Genocide toolkit with MASGD.

Check out the new No Pride in Genocide toolkit.

Download the No Pride in Apartheid signs & graphics.

6. Find more protests: uscpr.org/protests

Find a protest near you. Text and invite all your friends. Ask everyone in attendance to complete an action tool on the spot. Print your signs.

These protest signs are free to use. You’ll find USCPR protest signs, as well as signs by artists who’ve granted their permission for printing them for protests. Also see the protest art collection bit.ly/Pal-Art.

7. Birddog your member of Congress

There will be NO REST for Congress while they fund and enable genocide. Blood is on their hands. Find out where your member of Congress will be, and approach them with your questions and demands. Bring a camera! See this example. Use the “How to Pressure Congress: From Birddogging to Sit-ins” kit.

Learn how to birddog at bit.ly/PalestineBirddogging.

8. Send a big message with visuals

Drop a banner over a highway or local hotspot. Make it large so everyone can see your demands from a distance!

You can also broadcast a light projection with your message at night on the side of a building or other large blank flat surface. This works best if you have a good projector, and if you can rent a generator to power it. See examples and read this guide for more details.

9. Organize for a local city council resolution

Build a campaign to pass a ceasefire resolution or divestment resolution at your city council.

Learn more at bit.ly/CityCouncilToolkit.

10.
Boycott, Divestment, & Sanctions (BDS)

Modeled after anti-apartheid organizing in South Africa, BDS tactics are an effective strategy for Palestinian rights. See this updated graphic on complicit companies to boycott. Read more.

Print out BDS stickers and flyers to wheatpaste around your neighborhood. Find designs here from @GentleSuns.

11. Wheatpaste flyers around your neighborhood

You can wheatpaste flyers on walls, electrical boxes, and other public spaces along the sidewalk. This is a great way to get our your message locally, whether you’re calling out Genocide Joe for his complicity, spreading the message for a permanent ceasefire, or highlighting a BDS target. Here’s a guide to wheatpasting and a printable zine from @GentleSuns on Instagram. You can also use SureGrip wallpaper adhesive mixed with water, to save time!

Download flyers for wheatpasting.

12. Mobilize a social media storm

Organize your local networks, pick a date/time for a social media storm targeting your member of Congress, and flood their feeds with your demands all at once.

Post this message on social media, tagging their social media handle. You can also tweet at your elected officials using uscpr.org/GazaTweet.

Hi [@handle]: As your constituent, I’m urging you to push for an arms embargo on Israel NOW. #StopArmingIsrael

Palestinian people in Gaza are living through genocide as Israel bombs, starves, and displaces them. Their lives are on the line with every passing second.

13. Hold a vigil for Gaza

Mourn and pray together to honor our Palestinian martyrs killed. In their memories, you can read out their names, share their stories, or display their photos with candles and tea lights. Close by taking action together and emailing Congress on the spot (uscpr.org/GazaEmail).

Print this action flyer to hand out.

14. Text all your friends, group chats, your whole contact list

Copy/paste this message:

Hey! Urgent action is needed to stop the ongoing genocide in Gaza. 🚨 Palestinian people in Gaza are asking us to drive as much pressure as possible for a PERMANENT ceasefire now. Please use these links to call and email your elected officials.

Your voice matters. It’s extremely important to pressure our elected officials to stop the killing. Thank you for taking action with me.

15. Tell the U.S. media to stop platforming the ADL

The ADL, or as many call it the Apartheid Defense League, is not an ally to our movements. The ADL is a right-wing organization that uses inflammatory, racist rhetoric to mislead the public, cover up Israel’s war crimes, and smear activists for Palestinian rights. Tell media outlets to stop platforming the ADL.

Write to the media with the #DropTheADL media toolkit.

16. Print out a yard sign for your home

Display a Palestine sign in your yard or window. You can also show your support by flying the Palestinian flag and wearing a keffiyeh.
