Who Are We?
Contrary to the newspaper articles and Dr. Pulver’s email, we are NOT a bunch of “outsiders“ coming in to attack the school board and demand the students NOT be allowed an elective Ethnic Studies course. We support and encourage students to hear the voices of all people groups that have made America the amazing country it is.
Who are we really?
We are concerned parents, grandparents and community members, the majority of whom who live in the district, who recognize the danger of Critical Race Theory slipping into our schools through the ETHNIC STUDIES CLASS and K-12 Social Justice Standards provided by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Many of us are too afraid to speak publicly since questioning the narrative results in cancelling and doxing.

Our students are being taught by TOSA Nadia Williams, who acquired legal counsel to sue these concerned parents because she felt “emotional stress” over being mentioned in this document. Her lawyer, Joni Salomon, demanded we reveal ourselves so she could sue us for defamation of character.
Dr. Pulver and the board are misleading community members when they say the standards are a stand alone adoption. If that were true, why is the website Tolerance.org on the front of the package they handed out at the workshop meeting? Why are they denying it now? Well maybe because the concerned citizens of Los Alamitos started asking questions!

Chronology of Los Alamitos School Board Attempt to Sneak in CRITICAL RACE THEORY
(Ondrea Reed called the ethnic studies material “life changing” yet introduced it at a 4:15pm Tuesday Workshops)
Los Alamitos School District is introducing Critical Race Theory (CRT) into the students’ curriculum under the disguise of an elective Ethnic Studies, mandatory K-12 Social Justice Standards, and Culturally Responsive Instruction for teachers. These sound like very reasonable and even positive additions, however the courses are filled with hate for America and all America stands for.
Critical Race Theory teaches children that America is based on white supremacy and that white people are racists, even if they don’t know it.
Critical Race Theory as defined by its supporters CRT: In Their Own Words
It teaches children of color that they are victims of this white supremacy and encourages all children to be social justice warriors in an effort to right the wrongs of white people who are the oppressors. Black Lives Matter (BLM) is considered as “an effective social movement communities have initiated and sustained in response to oppression and systems of power.” Are these your values? Do you want your children or the children in your community to be taught this racist ideology?
The Los Alamitos School Board has a 4-pronged approach to get CRT in schools that includes:
- An elective ethnic studies course which will become mandatory for all students with the signing of Assembly Bill 2016 (CRT proponents wrote the curriculum)
- Human Relations Task Force (current teachers’ professional development trainings in Culturally Responsive Instruction)
- Social Justice Curriculum Standards (K-12 curriculum focused on identity, diversity,justice and action in EVERY SUBJECT AND EVERY GRADE. - 5 Year New Teacher Professional development to include Culturally Responsive Instruction (indoctrinating teachers into CRT and the teaching of CRT)

- Ondrea Reed, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum presented an Elective Ethnic Studies Course Presentation at a 4:30pm Board workshop February 9, 2021. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJ3PClUdVPA) Begins at minute 27.
- Two short weeks later, with virtually NO community input, the board passed the Ethnic Studies Elective Course despite over 40 parents requesting additional time to preview the course outline. When questioned about the community input, the Board replied there had been public comment opportunities June 2020 and February 2021.

These “professors'' embrace Critical Race Theology which paints all Whites as evil oppressors and all non-Whites as oppressed victims who can’t get ahead in America because of its systemic racist institutions. Their contributions and claims in the California Ethnic Studies Model Curriculum (recently adopted by the California State Board of Education on 3/19/21 in a unanimous vote [ Critical Race-Based California Ethnic Studies Curriculum Passes State Board of Education Vote (legalinsurrection.com)]) were repeatedly called out as unsubstantiated and discriminatory by the Educators for Excellence in Ethnic Studies. Miguel Zavala, Christine Sleeter and Tolteka Cuauhtin co-authored a book called Rethinking Ethnic Studies. Elective Ethnic Studies Curriculum
- The board also hired Danielle Nava, (https://www.daniellenavaconsulting.com) an “Anti-Racist” consultant who prides herself on looking at everything through a racial equity lens which means everything has to do with race. You are not judged as an individual but by race: whites = oppressors; non-whites = oppressed. She is “training” Los Alamitos teachers in Human Relations, again viewed through a racial lens.
- The board hired Nadia Williams as a teacher-on-special-assignment (TOSA) for $111,083.00. On March 23rd, 2021 she and Ondrea Reed, (Curriculum Assistant Superintendent $263,534.00), led a workshop about the Social Justice Standards developed by the Southern Poverty Law Center. This completely left leaning organization is one that labels any Christian Group racists if they support traditional family values.

- Ondrea Reed and Nadia Williams are requesting two items:
They requested to have the Social Justice Standards by the Southern Poverty Law Center embedded in all K-12 curriculum. EVERY SUBJECT AT EVERY GRADE TO BE VIEWED THROUGH A Racial Equity Lens. The course’s 4 anchor standards include: identity, diversity, justice and action.
The action (standard 20) states, students will plan and carry out collective action against bias and injustice in the world and will evaluate what strategies are most effective. (Can you say BLM?) (Plus who decides what is biased and what is not?)
Read between the lines and it’s full of recognizing privilege, dominant culture, microaggressions, and systemic power struggle i.e. Critical Race Theory.
- Ondra Reed and Nadia Williams also request to add Culturally Responsive Instruction to their Los Al Unified 5-Year New Teacher Professional Development series. Basically they want to teach their newest educators how to teach Critical Race Theory to their students under the guise of “social justice” and “restorative practices”.
I encourage you to read the links and OPEN YOUR EYES to how the Los Alamitos Board of Education wants to use OUR tax dollars to indoctrinate our students to hate themselves if they are white or white Adjacent or be made to feel like a victim if they are people of color.

The people in the room make the decisions! You need to show up to speak up. Evil is allowed to flourish when good people do nothing.
