This document is a revision of the original FAQ, which compiled questions that were directly asked of Vrelnir on the blog, and his exact answers. This expanded FAQ aims to be both more conclusive and more concise.
Note: Vrelnir's responses, as well as this FAQ, use some common terminology.

Q: Can we get an option to choose our own name, choose our pronouns, or change our sex, either through magical means or surgery?
A: Choosing a name for the player is on the maybe pile. There are no plans to choose your pronouns or change your genitals. Crossdressing is a core mechanic in DoL, and NPCs, including LIs, will always judge your pronouns based on your gender appearance. This will not change. There are many reasons why changing genitals is not in the cards as well:
Q: Is it possible to assign a sexuality to your PC, such as gay, straight, or bisexual?
A: This is not a planned feature, though the player can of course roleplay as whatever sexuality they want.
Q: Can we set the player's birthday, or celebrate our birthday if we play long enough?
A: Birthdays are not currently planned for either the PC or for LIs, even if you play for longer than one year in-game. And the player technically has a birthday already, right before the game starts!
Q: Can we choose between circumcised and uncircumcised penises, or choose a weight or height for the PC?
A: Given DoL's setting, and the fact that visible virgin penises require a foreskin, characters will always be uncircumcised. Visible weight/height differences on the player are not planned either, given the amount of spritework necessary to implement such a thing. However, the player can select, for example, the "large" body type, which is left vague enough for the player to impose their own desires.
Q. My PC has both sets of genitalia, but I'm uncomfortable with the term hermaphrodite, since it's a slur against intersex people. Can you rename hermaphrodite to intersex?
Hermaphrodite, as a biological term used to describe species that have both sets of fully functional reproductive organisms, is a slur against intersex people, yes. It's offensive largely because it's inaccurate to the intersex experience, and is not something that occurs in humans -- it "others" intersex people by calling them freak of nature, basically. Hermaphrodites in DoL are, very importantly, not intersex -- they're a fantastical, fetishised genetic abnormality.
Relabeling them as intersex is just as inaccurate as someone calling an intersex person a hermaphrodite, and frankly, it would both perpetuate and validate the misleading and offensive stereotype of intersex people as inhuman, biological impossibilities. While it's perfectly understandable why the term may be upsetting on a personal level, it is used in a very different context. [added v.1.7]
Q: Will there be a "making clothes out of plants" skill?
A: This could possibly be attached to the Housekeeping skill.
Q: Will there be an acting skill or singing skill?
A: Both have been considered in the past. You can improve your singing by singing with the Great Hawk, and you can improve your acting in the English play with another study, but they're not strictly skills. Perhaps if they get more use in the future.
Q: Will there be a yoga skill?
A: This would be a funny reference to the age-old "NPC contortionist" problem, but yoga will likely continue to make use of the athletics skill.
Q: Have you considered traits to allow female PCs to squirt, or male PCs to ejaculate prematurely?
A: Both options could fit. They might be added in the future.
Q: Will you consider a happiness statistic?
A: A long-term positive statistic, almost like a counterpart to trauma, is worth considering. It could be nice to track how well your character is living beyond just surviving. It's a maybe.
Q: Rape is hot. Can I make my PC like rape?
A: No. DoL is not just a porn game; it's also a trauma simulator. The player is not the PC, and rape is traumatic for the PC, who is a victim. If the PC were to get actions that could be interpreted as them enjoying rape or "asking" to be raped, it would be very clearly a self-destructive action -- like the current level 6 actions, such as leglocking your rapist; these actions might be something the player wants to do, but they're still harmful to the PC.
Q: Can the PC be able to take their own virginities by penetrating themselves if their dick is big enough, or doing auto-fellatio?
A: This is not planned. Player virginities should only be taken by third parties.
Q: Will we learn more about why the PC is an orphan?
A: The PC's background will be left relatively vague, so the player can freely imagine whatever background they wish.
Q: Can the player get a cell phone?
A: It's something that would be nice to add, but there's too many mechanical and logistical concerns to consider at this time. It's not planned, but maybe in the distant future.
Q: Can the PC become a superhero with powers?
A: The ability to play as a costumed vigilante is planned. It won't be a transformation though, and probably won't have superpowers.
Q: Can we get a puppy?
A: Bailey will not let you keep a pet! You can have wolf pups, and when dog pregnancy is added, you'll be able to have puppies that way as well.
Q: Will there be bruises, broken limbs, or a scarification system?
A: DoL tends to avoid the physical effects of violence on the PC, since care would need to be taken to do it right. Bruises are on the maybe pile. Broken limbs and other injuries, as well as scarification, are not hard nos, but they're not planned at this time. [edited v.1.7.1]
Q: Would it be possible to dominate Robin, like we can with Sydney, or have them dominate you?
A: Something like that for Robin is in the maybe pile.
Q: Can Robin be involved in a gaming tournament, or be a streamer?
A: Both options are on the maybe pile. They could potentially be connected.
Q: Will Robin ever be able to make more money?
A: Other ways for Robin to earn money may be explored in the future. The player already has one way to affect the amount of money Robin earns, via a balloon stall that first appears on the beach during summer.
Q: Will it be possible to bring Robin to the wolf cave?
A: Bringing Robin to the wolfpack is on the maybe pile, though it raises some logistical concerns that would need to be addressed first.
Q: Can Robin move into the player's room?
A: It's not planned. Bailey would not be happy with you sharing a room, in case you start plotting something. Also, the rooms are incredibly tiny. It'd be hard to fit Robin's clothes in there - especially after the player squeezes purchased furniture in there!
Q: Can we bring Robin to live with us on the farm or Eden's cabin?
A: No. Robin would not want to live all the way out on the farm, nor would they want to walk hours into town every day in order to attend school or carry their lemonade stand setup to the beach. Robin is also scared of the deep forest and would not be willing to live at Eden's. Bailey wouldn't allow it, Alex has no interest in opening up their home to their partner's friend or defending Robin from Bailey on rent day, and Eden would not be willing to share their home either. If they did, it would not be a safe place for Robin.
Q: Will it ever be possible to get rid of Whitney without passing out first, so they can be dismissed without failing the Long Stressful Challenge feat?
A: Another way to trigger Whitney's dismissal would be nice to have, and may be possible in the future.
Q: Can the player meet Whitney in detention?
A: It would be cool, and fitting, to meet Whitney in detention. It's on the maybe pile.
Q: Can we turn the tables on Whitney and tame them?
A: It might eventually be possible to turn the tables on Whitney when they reach low dominance.
Q: I locked Whitney away forever! Can I free them?
A: Freeing Whitney from the Underground Brothel is on the maybe pile. It would be an involved route to add and would need to be properly fleshed out. The dungeon's content in general, with or without Whitney and Robin present, would likely need adjustments as well.
Q: Can Whitney's behaviour become softer after you rescue them from being abducted?
A: It would make sense for Whitney to become more tolerable once you've rescued them, and they do express gratitude. It's a maybe. Eliminating their bullying behaviour entirely is not planned though.
Q: Can we live with other LIs such as Whitney or Sydney, or at least visit their house?
A: Visiting Whitney's house is planned. Living with them was not originally planned, but that may change in the future. Living with Sydney is somewhat planned as well.
Q: Will marriage be possible?
A: Marriage is planned, for some point in the distant future. You won't be able to marry any NPC however, as each will be a unique situation and take a lot of work.
Q: Can we have consensual sex with our love interests as an angel, without falling?
A: You can currently have consensual, angelic sex with Sydney if you complete the Rite of Promise. Angelic sex that didn't lead to the fallen angel transformation with other LIs would require marriage.
Q: Can we get a harem, or at least more interactions between LIs?
A: A harem of love interests in the future is planned, but it won't be easy to achieve. Robin, Whitney and Kylar may not be happy to share you. NPCs being more reactive to each other in general is planned.
Q: Some of the love interests use generic combat lines, and it's immersion breaking. Will they all get their own eventually?
A: Unique combat lines for all LIs are planned.
Q: Can named or random NPCs be seen using chastity belts/cages?
A: Asides from Sydney, none of the major characters are planned to wear them. With the addition of the world corruption mechanics, random NPCs can now be found in chastity. Low soft world corruption increases the odds of them wearing chastity equipment.
Q: Can we buy gifts for love interests to raise their affection or lower it?
A: Being able to buy gifts for NPCs is a cute idea. As of 0.5.3.0, all love interests can be gifted food. Some, but not all, LIs can be gifted other gifts such as strapons, milkshakes, or in Robin's case, clothes. Other opportunities that make use of the gifting system are planned.
Q: Is there a plan to subdue Bailey for good? For example, by making him pay for his crimes?
A: Bailey is an upstanding citizen! What crimes? (There's something planned for the future, but not soon.)
Q: There's some locations where Bailey doesn't go after you for rent money. Will this be changed?
A: It is planned for Bailey to come after you to other locations, such as if you stay with Eden, the wolves, or the Great Hawk long enough, though it should be possible to evade them.
Q: Can Bailey become a love interest, or can we have more sex with Bailey?
A: Neither of those ideas are planned. It's a big departure from the original vision for the game, and being attracted to the PC doesn't fit their character.
Q: Can I report Bailey to the police, or frame them for my crimes like I can with Leighton and Whitney?
A: It's not planned at this time. Bailey is a major player in the town's ongoings and has the mayor in their pocket. You can tell the town of Bailey's tyranny during the cafe opening, and it's quickly covered up -- the same would occur if you attempted to frame Bailey. Besides, the police already have a three-year-long backlog of reported crimes to get through! [added v.1.1]
Q: Can we romance the teachers, or have sex with them? What about Remy or Wren or the Ivory Wraith, or my other favourite character?
A: The teachers, Remy, Wren, and the Ivory Wraith will not become love interests, as doing so will detract from their characters. Most of the teachers aren't sexually interested in the PC, though lewd situations with some of them may occur in the future. More lewd situations for Mason in particular are planned. Remy is not interested in the PC beyond their value as a cow, and Wren isn't interested in commitment. They have their own priorities, and the PC simply isn't the center of their focus like it is for other LIs.
The Ivory Wraith is similarly not a candidate as a Love Interest. For a character to be a love interest, they have to have a reason to exist beyond fluffy romance content. Sex alone doesn't make a love interest either; they need to have a significant place in the game world and provide an obstacle to overcome, as well as be an interface into a theme or system of the game as a whole. While the Wraith is an obstacle for the player to overcome, their role in the game is not conducive to LI status.
In general, existing NPCs aren't planned to become LIs, though their characters may be explored in more detail at some point in the future. [edited v.1.6]
Q: Will there be more consensual BDSM involving named NPCs in the future?
A: More consensual BDSM is planned in general, most notably with Winter. Kylar is also a possibility for BDSM content.
Q: Will we be able to have sex with Jordan in the future?
A: No. Jordan takes their chastity vow seriously!
Q: Can Morgan become a Stockholm Syndrome Character?
A: Morgan's content is planned to be reworked. There are a few directions we can take Morgan, and that's one possibility.
Q: Can we get an LI to help us fight against Bailey?
A: It's a possibility for certain characters, and could fit the game. Eden and Avery would not fight or harm Bailey on behalf of the PC, though they might put pressure on Bailey or argue over who gets to keep the PC. Kylar might set up a trap for Bailey if they were convinced or hysterical, but it would most likely fail and Kylar would avoid retribution. Whitney is more inclined to work with Bailey than fight them, and sees Bailey as aspirational. A high-confidence Robin might intervene directly and violently if they saw PC being harmed by Bailey, but they wouldn't be able to plan an attack on them. It wouldn't be out of character for Alex to get help from their siblings and pull a stupid move that gets people hurt, but is threatening to Bailey. Sydney bends to authority easily. [added v.1.2]
Q: Can we dismiss Leighton, Remy, or Bailey? They're annoying. Also I think Alex should be dismissed by sending them to Remy's farm. Or maybe Alex can take over Remy's farm?
A: No. Dismissals are reserved for characters who are an active hindrance to you, but they're not meant to remove the core antagonists of the game. Bailey's pursuit of money from the player is intended to be challenging and is a driving factor for the game. Were Bailey and Leighton to be "dismissed", someone even worse than them would take their place. Dismissals are also designed to remove ruthlessly persistent LIs like Whitney, Avery, and Kylar from the game, who are essentially enemies unless (or even after) you romance them. There's no easy way to avoid those characters, while Alex and Remy can both be avoided entirely by not engaging with the farm content. Getting rid of Remy or the farm is not planned in any capacity, including Alex taking it over. [added v.1.3]
Q: Do you have any plans for impregnation/pregnancy content for major NPC's?
A: Pregnancy and impregnation is currently implemented for Alex, Black Wolf, and Great Hawk. Pregnancy content is planned for all remaining love interests (Avery, Eden, Kylar, Robin, Sydney, Whitney). It takes a tremendous amount of work to implement pregnancy content for a single character; please be patient!
Q: Will characters be able to get pregnant with nonhuman species?
A: In addition to having pups with the Black Wolf and chicks with the Great Hawk, pregnancy and impregnation is currently implemented for wolves. Pregnancy content is planned for other beasts as well, though appropriate "safehouses" for them will need to be established.
Q: Will you be able to put your kids up for adoption or send them elsewhere?
A: No, you will not be able to put your children up for adoption. The nursery ward is perhaps the safest place in town, after all!
Q: Is it possible for characters to get mpregged?
A: Mpreg [male pregnancy] is currently possible via ear slimes. Other ways of getting mpregged are planned.
Q: Will it be possible to get pregnant if you're already pregnant? Can I be pregnant with both wolf pups and human children?
A: There are no plans to include superfetation, though it's not entirely off the table. You cannot get pregnant with more than one species at a time - to earn the "Diversity of Life" feat, you'll need separate pregnancies.
Q: I have a lot of ideas for how combat mechanics improved. What are some suggested mechanics that might be coming?
A: Combat code needs to be reworked before additional mechanics can be implemented. The following suggestions are planned:
Q: Sometimes the "scream" action doesn't work in specific circumstances -- can it also backfire occasionally?
A: Screaming backfiring in certain scenarios is planned, though we'd need to be careful not to overdo it.
Q: Can we get more weapons to fight with?
A: More weapons are planned, though they will not be deadly weapons and will be limited to self-defense. This rules out guns, tasers and knives. The most recently added weapons (whips and batons) need to be fleshed out before further weapons are considered.
Q: Can we figure out a way to judge an NPC's insecurity when mocking them, instead of trial and error?
A: The current system for mocking isn't ideal. This might be something to consider in the future.
Q: Can we get more dirty talk for non-submissive PCs?
A: Different types of moans, including dirty talk beyond mocking in consensual encounters, would be a lot to write, but might be worthwhile. It's on the maybe pile.
Q: Why isn't anal sex painful, unless it's losing your virginity?
A: The game used to work that way, but it was determined that it made things too difficult. This decision could potentially be reversed, as the game may have become too easy for experienced players since.
Q: Why does double penetration with two enormous penises cause less pain than penetration with a singular enormous penis?
A: This is an oversight! Double penetration code is currently hacked together, and this should be fixed in the future.
Q: Will you add more consensual gangbangs?
A: Consensual gangbangs are a rarity by design.
Q: Will there be more petplay, especially with costumes?
A: More petplay is planned. There may be room for costumes to be involved.
Q: Can we have cum inflation?
A: Cum inflation isn't planned, but may be included at some point if it's not too much work. Belly sprites already exist for pregnancy, and internal semen volume is already tracked. It's a possibility.
Q: Can we get all-the-way-through content, nipple/navel/urethral/foreskin penetration, or parasites laying eggs in breasts?
A: These kinks are not planned.
Q: Will you add armpit sex?
A: There are no plans to add armpit sex, but it would fit, particularly during gangbangs. It's a maybe.
Q: Will we ever be able to fuck the bulls/cows?
A: It's planned, as are breeding events with the bulls/cows. Combat sprites for both beasts and monsterpeople are needed first, and are on the to-do list.
Q: Can we jizz in more food, like we can at the chef job?
A: More opportunities to ejaculate in food is a possibility.
Q: Will full mind control ever be a thing?
A: It's not planned, as the player should still have a lot of input instead of complete loss of agency. Mind control, similar to the current hypnosis system, would always give the option to resist, albeit at a cost.
Q.Can you add somnophilia?
A. Proper somnophilia, or fucking the player while they're asleep, is not planned. It would remove player agency, possibly resulting in unwanted virginity loss. Situations like that should be avoidable. With that said, pseudo-somnophilia is fine, and scenes where the player wakes up and can pretend to be asleep are appropriate. [added v.1.3]
Q: Can we get hermaphrodite NPCs?
A: No, it's not planned. Hermaphrodites are meant to be rare in the world of DoL. In addition, it would require a complete rewrite of how NPCs react to herm players, and a complete rewrite of all events that involve NPCs exposing themselves to account for the chance of them being herms. This is especially problematic for named NPCs. It would also be very challenging to implement with the current combat code.
Q: Can we see more instances of NPCs getting lewd with each other, such as exhibitionism or deviancy?
A: More instances of generic NPCs engaged in lewdity with each other are planned, including deviancy encounters and the player as a voyeur.
Q: Can we have more variety in NPC encounters, such as dominant and forceful NPC's that get bored if the PC doesn't fight back or NPCs who force the player to give handjobs/finger them?
A: Sadistic NPCs losing interest if the PC doesn't seem distressed enough, and more "harassment" level molestation like this would both be good to add.
Q: I have an amazing idea for a new character for the game! Can you add my OC?
A: Adding a new named NPC or Love Interest is an enormous amount of work. New NPCs/LIs will only be added by Vrelnir, or if it was contributed by someone he trusts with the job and created in close collaboration with him. We have nine LIs and twenty NNPCs (named NPCs, "persons of interest" on the social tab) at present, and we'd rather focus our efforts on fleshing out the existing NPCs. Were we to add a new character, it would not be because of a random person's suggestion, no matter how well thought out your idea is -- that's what fanfiction and headcanon is for! New "persistent NPCs" (generic NPCs with randomly-assigned names or roles, such as the office manager, prison guards, or watchtower guard) are more likely to be added than an actual new character, though they would need a compelling reason for their inclusion. [added v.1.2]
Q: Can we get hunger implemented as a full mechanic? What about thirst, hygiene, and other needs such as using the bathroom?
A: Hunger and thirst were once in-game mechanics and were removed, as they became too difficult to manage alongside other stats. They will not be added back in, but they will remain a part of some bad ends. The player will not be able to die of hunger or thirst, of course.
Q: Can we get sick from staying out in cold weather?
A: There are no plans to add physical illnesses like that, but it could be fun to add. It's a maybe.
Q: Will there be addiction options in the future similar to nectar addiction, where the player needs to manage their addiction? It'd fit since the player can already smoke, drink, and take aphrodisiacs?
A: Addiction to aphrodisiacs is planned, and potentially to other fantastical drugs. Other addictions like alcohol and cigs are on the maybe pile. A toggle would need to be added for addiction mechanics in general, and they'd need to be implemented appropriately. Cigarette/alcohol addiction may be explored once school cliques are a thing and the PC can join the delinquents.
Q: Can we rename NPCs?
A: It's not planned. Named NPC names are hardcoded, and adding the ability to change that via user input is not something we're interested in implementing, especially as it has the potential to heavily break things. Furthermore, NNPCs are established characters, with their own backstories and personalities -- allowing the player to superimpose new names and identities on them does their existing characterisation a disservice. It would also result in confusion if people start talking about characters using whatever name they assigned them. [added v.1.4]
Q: Can insecurity become an optional feature? Maybe a toggle?
A: Adjustments and improvements to the insecurity system are planned, though they won't be a toggle. There should be more than one way to fight insecurity, including something for people who want to play a character who's proud from the start. The details still need to be worked out.
Q: Will there be any other kind of mythical creatures you can encounter? Dryads in the forest, kappas in the lake, mermaids/men in the ocean, vampires, goblins/orcs?
A: More fantastical elements are planned. There are "dryads" now -- plantpeople! There are no plans for kappas, goblins, or orcs, as they would change the game's tone too much. Mermaids and vampires are still on the maybe pile though.
Q: Can we get a proper inventory system?
A: An inventory is a maybe. It would solve some design problems, but it would be difficult to set up in a way that's satisfying. There's logistical concerns that need to be taken into consideration as well.
Q: Are different "starts" to the game planned, such as already paying for Robin?
A: Different starts might be added in the distant future, when the game is more fleshed out.
Q: Will this game ever have any "endings"?
A: Endings of a sort are planned, including an orphanage revolt. You'll still be able to play after though. This is a long ways off and would be closer to 1.0 content.
5.21.b Q: Might we assist the police department or any other law-enforcing structure?
A: The PC might be able to aid the police in return for overlooking the PC's criminal activity. It's on the maybe pile.
Q: Will there be magic in this? Can the player learn magic?
A: While the game explores some supernatural things, learning magic or explicitly magical situations are not in the cards, as they don't fit DoL's direction.
Q: The player is permanently hard. Will visual representations of flaccid penises and erections based on arousal be a thing?
A: This would be a good feature to have. It's on the maybe pile.
Q: Can we have the ability to sell clothes you don't want?
A: The idea has already been tried and tested. It was decided that it didn’t really work for the game
Q: Can the player steal or purchase a car? Can we get a bike to travel around town faster?
A: Cars are out of the question. Grand theft auto doesn't fit the game's vibe, and owning a car would introduce narrative plot holes. A key element of the game is that the PC cannot escape from the town and its immediate surroundings. Giving them a car would just raise questions of "why can't the player just drive away and live happily elsewhere." Bikes are not planned either. Secondary travel options shouldn't make existing content obsolete or irrelevant, and giving the player wheels so they can move around town faster, without risk, isn't in line with our vision for the game. There's already numerous ways to speed up travel, both free or at a low cost.
Q: I need to "do something more extreme" to regain control, but my lewd stats are maxed out! Will there be more extreme actions that the player can take when they reach maximum lewdity?
A: Similar to "Rape is hot. Can I make my PC like rape?" -- more "extreme" actions such as the current level 6 actions (e.g. leglocking your rapist) are planned. These actions will be self-destructive and will inflict trauma on the player, in exchange for raising control. [added v.1.1]
Q. Will there be more jobs? Will existing jobs be more profitable?
A: Some existing jobs need to be reworked or rebalanced. More jobs are likely. The following jobs have been considered for the eventual future:
Q: Are there any plans for more school classes, activities, and projects?
A: The following are planned for some point in the future:
Q: Will there be changes to the way school status works?
A: School status may become more granular, as cliques are planned, and the PC would be able to develop different reputations with each of them.
Q: Will we ever be able to attend all classes nude ?
A: Attending all classes nude is in the maybe pile.
Q: Will the player be able to graduate some day? Will school always go on forever?
A: Graduation isn't strictly planned, but it'll be considered for the future. Rounding out the year somehow would be desirable. The game is a sandbox though, and ending school permanently could mean losing out on a lot of content. If it is added, it would likely be post 1.0 content.
Q: Can we break into orphanage rooms, like we can break into houses?
A: Breaking into orphanage rooms is planned, alongside other orphanage content.
Q: Will there be more loft expansions?
A: There's more planned, including a shrine and clinic.
Q: Will there be other ways to pass time in your bedroom? Something slightly productive to do in the bedroom, such as working out, watching tv, reading or doing homework.
A: There's not enough space to work out, but other ways to pass time might be added. You can pass time by reading the scarlet or olive book, and other books may be added in the future. Homework aside from the current school projects is a possibility.
Q: Can we have a gym, so the player can exercise indoors?
A: A gym is planned.
Q: What about a proper restaurant?
A: It's possible that the restaurant you visit with Avery could become a full location.
Q: Can there be a fight club or street fighting arena?
A: A fight club is planned for some point in the future.
Q: Can there be an ice-cream stand at the beach on sunny days? Could be a lot of fun with high oral or promiscuity/exhibitionism skill.
A: Ice-cream could result in some very fun situations. Adding it to the balloon stand might be considered in the future.
Q: Can we walk around town naked at high exhibitionism?
A: This is a law-abiding town! While more exhibitionism opportunities are planned, including additional streaking scenes and expansions of existing streaking content, adding the ability to walk around town completely naked, without repercussions, would require significant rewrites. Walking around town naked should remain dangerous, and criminal. It's not a bad idea for a level 6 exhibitionism action, but it would need to be handled correctly. [added v.1.1]
Q: Can we leave the temple? I'm tired of failing inspections.
A: No. There isn't an option to leave the temple for the same reason there isn't an option to stop being the hookah master, or stop being the leader of the wolfpack, or stop working at the cafe. They're all things the player has to go out of their way to do. Adding an option to leave the temple would add nothing to the game -- you can simply just stop going there.
Q: Can we get an option to fight against the temple order and take it down entirely?
A: There's a schism in the temple order, which will be explored in the future, alongside other temple-based content. Taking down the temple entirely is not planned though.
Q: Can we get some kind of house or flat to live in?
A: The player will not be able to purchase their own flat or house. As a main antagonist, Bailey needs to be able to continue to extort the player for money. Bailey also still has all of their identification papers and documentation, and the PC would not be able to legally purchase their own living quarters anyway.
Q: Can the PC become a patron of the Underground Brothel?
A: It's not planned.
Q: Can the player become homeless? Can they sleep in the park instead of paying Bailey?
A: Homeless living is a maybe. It'll likely be more involved than just sleeping on the park bench and would come with its own unique challenges.
Q: Can loitering be more flexible, time-wise?
A: The ability to loiter for different amounts of times, and added flavour depending on where you're loitering, is planned. Right now, the fifteen minute loitering option is a quick and dirty QoL solution.
Q: Will we get more sex poses?
A: More poses for sex are a possibility, but they aren't a priority at this time. The existing poses are in a sorry state when it comes to visually representing the player's clothes and hair, and we'd like to get those in a more complete state before we consider adding new poses. Plus, a tremendous amount of work is required to do even one new pose, especially since clothes are an integral part of combat and would need to be shown in combat.
Q: Will this game have animations for masturbation or oral?
A: They're planned, though there's no ETA. Masturbation actions especially have become rather involved.
Q: Will we get sprites to represent named characters?
A: Sprites for named characters are not planned, as people should be free to imagine the characters as they please. However, portraits could be doable if the sprites were customisable enough. We'll take it under consideration.
Q: Can we eventually choose custom hair colours?
A: That would be ideal, yes. The ability to customise your hair colour beyond the default dye colours is planned for some point in the future.
Q: Will the forest and sewers get their own maps?
A: It's being considered. It would be very useful to have.
Q: Will there be a calendar to track holidays and other events?
A: It's a good idea, and on the maybe pile.
Q: Will there be backgrounds in combat, or more props and scenery?
A: It's on the maybe pile. It would certainly add a lot to the game, though it'd be a grand undertaking.
Q: Can we get beauty marks or moles?
A: A few options for beauty marks are planned.
Q: Can we get a visual representation of the belly distended when the player's being penetrated by a large cock?
A: It's not planned.
Q: Can we get animations for when the player's dancing?
A: It would be nice to include dancing animations, but depicting it could be very difficult. It's not completely off the table, but it's not likely.
Q: Can there be muscle definition based on the player's physique?
A: This would be ideal. It's a possibility, if it can be done without coming off as uncanny-valley.
Q: Can we get facial hair, or different eye shapes?
A: It would be difficult to sprite facial hair that doesn't look uncanny alongside the rest of the player character, but maybe. Different face styles were added in 0.5.3.7 as "demeanours." Other face styles may be added, as long as they fit the rest of the game's art direction, and we might be able to make beards and moustaches look appropriate then. [Edited v.1.6]
Q: Have you ever considered adding a rabbit transformation? Or a lizard, or a slime, or a tentacleperson?
A: All of those transformations have been considered in the past. While they were once on the maybe pile, as of right now, only one new transformation is planned for the future. We'd like to avoid bloating the game with too many transformation possibilities and would instead like to focus our efforts on bettering the existing transformations and making them more impactful. Alternate sprites for the existing transformations, as well as unique "chimera" sprites for divine/beast combinations, are planned though!
Q: Will there be a feat boost that makes you start a new game with a transformation?
A: It's not currently planned, though we can consider it. It would make sense.
Q: Can NPCs with penises earfuck you if you've grown animal ears?
A: Earfucking is not planned.
Q: Will there be more encounter-related options for transformations, like the NPC grabbing your tail, or someone petting you?
A: Transformations should be considered more during encounters, yes. Making the transformations more unique from each other in general would be good as well.
Q: Can NPCs get transformations?
A: While it's a fun thought, there's no plans for anyone other than the PC to be transformed.
Q: Can players with penises get beast cocks if they're transformed? What about hooves/paws?
A: Beast cocks for the PC are not a hard no, but they're not planned at this time. For the latter, transformations are not planned to be that extreme. However, hoof or paw fetishwear might be added.
Q: Can you make TFs permanent?
A: There are no plans to make the transformations permanent.
Q: Can you make it so that we can choose our own colours for transformation parts?
A: This is planned, yes! [added v.1.5]
Q: Can we get an additional layer of clothing to wear over shirts?
A: Outerwear is planned, including a raincoat.
Q: Will living clothes ever be a thing?
A: Living clothes are planned.
Q: We already have pasties -- can we get vaginal stickers too?
A: Vaginal stickers/tape are planned.
Q: Can we get edible clothing, clothing that dissolves in water, or painted clothing?
A: Edible and dissolvable clothing are good ideas. They would likely be tied to specific events, similar to the whipped cream exhibitionism event in the park. Bodypaint clothing is planned as well.
Q: Can NPCs react to your clothes more?
A: This would be nice to have for added flavour. NPCs recognising and reacting to lack of shoes, inappropriate dress for certain jobs, or costumes would be good to include in the future.
Q: Can we have more control over removing blindfolds and gags? Can we blindfold ourselves?
A: Alternative ways to remove the blindfold, gag, and other bindings may be considered. There are a couple of things you can do already to make removing them easier, but they still require you to seek help from others. Purchasing blindfolds would fit as well, though it might be challenging from a gameplay perspective.
Q: Will there be piercings?
A: Piercings are planned.
Q: Why can't I wear a bra and shorts around town when it's hot out? People IRL do, and they're not exhibitionists!
A: Underwear is still considered lewd by society at large, and there needs to be limitations in place for the under-upper category, which contains bras and lingerie, to be considered as such. You can walk around in a sports bra and shorts just fine in DoL, and there's plenty of skimpy upperwear that are functionally bras. Other bras can get the "covered" trait (which allows for sports bras, undershirts, and other under-upper items to be considered non-lewd items) if deemed appropriate, though. [Added v.1.1]
Q: I have some suggestions for handheld items! Can you add rollators, walkers, or skateboards as handheld items? Can handheld items be used as weapons?
A: Handheld items such as umbrellas acting as weapons are on the maybe pile for the combat overhaul, but those items aren't planned to be added. Skateboards would invite questions as to why the player can't skate around town to speed up travel, and as mentioned in Section 6, secondary travel options like skateboards aren't being considered at this time. Rollators and walkers are also not planned. While we do have disability rep in the form of canes and the forearm crutch, both of those assistive devices serve another purpose. Canes act as a fetish tool (cane whipping) and as a prop for formalwear, while the crutch acts as a prop for those who want to roleplay that the repeated abuse left their PC injured. Both devices have enough leeway in theoretical mobility that they aren’t immersion-breaking. The PC is capable of pulling off a lot of acrobatic feats, and we need to take how the player navigates the world into account when adding new handheld items. Rollators and walkers are bulky, and even if the player could pick up it and run with it, they would not be able to climb up a cliff lugging it, for instance. [Added v.1.4.]
Q. Q. I don't like this content you added. Can you put it behind a toggle? / I have a silly suggestion. Can you add it and put it behind a toggle? / Swarms annoy me. Can you add the option to skip them without turning on the toggle / Why did you remove this toggle?
A. There's a couple things you need to know about toggles. [Added v.1.3]
Q: Will the game get sound in the future?
A: Sound isn't planned, but it may be considered. It could be a good feature if done right.
Q: Will this be added to iOS or Steam?
A: It's not likely. iOS in particular has restrictions that would make it difficult.
Q: Will the game always be free to play?
A: Yes, it's an open-source project and won't be paywalled.
Q: Will this game be translated into another language ?
A: Any translations would need to be a community-led effort, and would be a huge undertaking given the scope of the game.
