Plan for October 13 - 19th, 2020

While we are away from the building, the Genesee County Health Department strongly recommends that students refrain from gathering in groups to avoid the potential spread of Covid-19.  

Parents/guardians, we need your help us with this to ensure that we will be able to return to school on October 20,2020

Instruction and Learning

  • Instruction and Learning will be fully online for all students.
  • Students learning will continue via Canvas and/or Google Classroom
  • Online Students
  • Instruction will continue with synchronous learning times as normal
  • Face to Face and Hybrid Students
  • Teacher instruction, lessons, and work will be found on Canvas and/or Google Classroom
  • Teachers will be communicating regarding “conference” hours for students to connect with them.
  • Instruction, lessons, and work are NOT optional.  Feedback and grades will be given.
  • GCI students:
  • The bus will still come to SCHS to pick up/drop off students.
  • Students may also drive to/from GCI.
  • Students will still be responsible for connecting with teachers at GCI to stay up on their instruction and work if they are not able to attend.

Technology

  • We will be offering a chromebook distribution for students that need a device.
  • Chromebook distribution will occur at the welcome center of the high school on Tuesday from 9:00am to 2:00pm and Wednesday from 9:00am to 2:00pm and 5:00-7:00 pm.  
  • Please enter through the main entrance.
  • Parents/guardians will need to come to pick up a chromebook for their student.
  • Parents will need to sign a device agreement to pick up a chromebook.

Athletics

  • Athletic practices and games will continue as planned this week.
  • We are handling details with athletics as if we were an online school.

Homecoming

  • Homecoming festivities will pick up on Tuesday, October 20th.
  • Homecoming game will now be Friday, October 23rd.

Meals

  • Families & students will have an option for daily curbside pickup of breakfast and lunch meals.
  • The pickup location will take place at Swartz Creek High School by the gym doors via drive thru from 12:30 pm - 1 pm.
  • All meals must be pre-ordered using the online link below. Meal order cutoff time is 9:00 am.
