  1. Fonts: I use this one, but you can use this one too.
  2. Twitter Image Card Preview: This website works if you need to refresh it.
  3. Colors: Color Blender, Paletton, coolors, colorhunt

TIPS YOU’LL NEED:

  1. If you use chrome, download Colorzilla for easy colorpicking by hex code.
  2. Take screenshots of your carrds! Not only is it fun to save when you’re bummed out with no inspiration, but it’s also fun to look back on how much you’ve improved.
  3. Use transparent dividers in your containers. As important as it is to be vertically centered, it’s also important to be horizontally centered. ♪
  4. I stay away from buttons on carrds, personally.
  5. If you have carrd pro, keep your hover shakes and rainbow text to a minimal. Also, don’t forget to make it nice for mobile users too! Accessibility is key.
  6. For non carrd pro people, your (Made In Carrd) is whatever the top text at the very top of the carrd is. Use this to your advantage if you wanna hide that.
  7. Try not to make carrds on mobile, if possible. Godspeed if you are.
  8. “Choose your own adventure” carrds and (most) scenecore carrds are hard on the eyes. Your carrd should be accessible and have your basic info.
  9. Do not forget to optimize your carrd for mobile users!
  10. Try to avoid cramming lots of text onto one page. You only really need basic info (name, age (or minor), pronouns, and race).
  11. Please don’t use fancy copied in fonts, unless carrd supports them. Not only may they not work on all devices but also may be hard for screenreaders to read.
  12. Keep disabled people and visually impaired people in mind when making carrds! ARCHiVE-esque carrds with lots of clutter may be hard to read, especially to those with dyslexia and other impairments, and too much “blurry” text (i.e. text shadows) can also make it hard to read. Add alt text, or an easily-accessible alt carrd, if needed.
  13. For carrd pro users, please stay to a maximum of 1-2 marquees, and don’t add too much valuable info on them.

I will update this when I think of more tips, I swear. ♥♫
